Yozora goes full on emo, Sena gets put on hold, Rika and Kodaka become chummy, Yukimura goes balls out and starts dating Kodaka, Sena has a bitch fit in front of her classmates so Yozora steps in to help but Kodaka saves the day at the cost of his reputation. Afterwards Yozora "wins" by accepting Sena as her friend. The very last chapter is Kodaka contemplating his feelings for Yukimura and discovers he's in love with Rika. Writers afterword is basically the author saying he's tired and that chapter 11 is gonna be either half story half epilogue or full epilogue I'm not too sure about that.

Thinking about it I'm very disappointed with the last 3 volumes of the story. I figured the series woulda gone the 15 volumes instead of feeling rushed. Supposedly the author had this ending in mind since the beginning but I can tell the illness took alot out of him so he rushed the ending. I'm not saying the ending is bad mind you, personally I'm happy with who Kodaka chose it's just that it feels there hardly wasn't any development for it.

Mmm... the part about Sena feels like a big asspull for status quo sake, and I agree with you Somethindarker, without the proper development things falls apart, and, what about all that crap Kodaka said to Sena about waiting for him?

Go for Rika end, please. I pray he would not make any asspull attempts on this series if he really mean that vol. 11 is going to be the epilogue. Or else it'll be a great disappointment with fans outrage with burning fury for his indecisive action.

What kind of illness he had, by the way?

I'm Rika's fan, and I kind of gave up on hen she decided to be Kodaka's friend but, I'm not convinced by the last development and that I want a proper way from Kodaka( who seems to be a huge jerk now) to solve his promise with Sena, an what will he tell to Yukimura to turn he down, no matter what it will destroy her .

WTH??!I thought vol 9 served as ending for the prologue of the series,and then it suddenly ends with vol 10 with vol 11 as an epilogue??the end girl was the one with less development?I would rather have it to be Rika than Yukimura,or he wanted to be more controversial than Oreimo?Nothing beats an incest open end series than a series that ends with a WTF development

Oww... Couldn't have given up on Rika that easily after vol. 8 (end of season 2) when you noticed that he began to realize that he's in love with Rika, can you?

Even though she friendzoned Kodaka, I still convinced myself that the relationship can be changed in time. I mean, it don't necessarily mean that the two would remain friends when the girl actually has feelings for him lingering in her, right?

Someone said a vitamin deficiency because of gout I'm not sure my uncle had gout and it didn't slow him down much. The writer of Zero no Tsukaima kept writing through chemo.

If you look at it from a writer's standpoint Rika end makes sense she's the only one who uses "boku" to refer to herself, Yozora is the protagonist so her "winning" doesn't necessarily mean a romantic ending. Just because Yuki dates Kodaka at the moment doesn't mean she'll end up with him. They're barely like 2/3s the way through their 2nd year. By that point in time I'd had 3-4 girlfriends and would date another 4 before I graduated. So he'll probably date Rika at some point.

That's what threw me off too. I'm guessing the author is going to end the series at volume 11. Take a couple years off then come back when he's healthier.

I did because what you said in the second part of your post, she decided as a true friend what is the best for Kodaka, so I admired her decision even though a part of me was sad.

The problem lies with Kodaka, not Rika. If she still has her solid mindset I doubt she will acept Kodaka like now after making a mess of the club.

Now that you reminded me about the "the start of the story" at Volume 9, this makes the story even more awkward. I wouldn't call the story as "gone to the shitter", but at best it would be a roller coaster ride to the end.

You can rely on his decision and the promise they gave each other.

My opinion is currently warped due to a novel I've finished reading on Monday, it had a lot of lies and cheating between the main characters to the point their relationship seems injured even after the mc's ended together at the end...

Since Kodaka tried to remain the status quo among the girls, which is kinda an indecisive prick of him, I get what you mean.

I wonder why is it a problem for him to not take it too kindly when the other girls upset of his decision? I'm not talking about Kodaka lacks the gutter of being a man nor being a spineless coward. Just that he could at least hopefully to believe in his feelings to make his decision and try to solve the problems with others whenever they're upset, making use of what they've been through as a club. That's what I could wish for.

Papa Pegasus is bound to upset that his would-be son-in-law cheated on his beloved daughter and breached the deal he made with his best buddy for his would-be son-in-law to marry his daughter as they grown up.

Well, since the Kodaka x Sena has so many things secured their relationship, any kind of "burning bridges" asspull scenario might result to severe the lovey-dovey relationship which is too big to see it fail and eventually destroyed. Such consequence will be catastrophic, as the massive wave of raging Sena fanbase will be coming for the author's head like a tsunami.

As far as I am right now (Volume 9, Chapter 3), Kodaka has been playing safe. He wants to confirm what he truly feels for his fellow members of the Neighbor's Club, because he may hold the key to destroying the Neighbor's Club by putting a fellow member in higher regard over the others. It's more or less like the "two-dimensional balancing act" in an Indiana Jones movie.

I understand that he needs to double-check on what he feels because of his problems with social interaction, but what he's doing right now isn't really good idea to those who harbor feelings for him. Just because Yozora's car is in a wreck doesn't mean that Kodaka has to get the Safety Car to allow Yozora or the others to catch up.

Kodaka is afraid of changes in his life, so he don't makes any decisions on his own to move forward in his life.

He was always following Sena in her decisions (like inviting him) while he never made any attempts to start a relationship on his own and asking her out what "normal" people usually do.

Thanks to her decision to confess her love to him, he was able to move forward in his life. And he will not give up on what he just has achieved. Kodaka is probably the most faithful and obedient person you can imagine, he will never betray a person he loves.

Kodaka's love for Sena is like a huge solid rock that can't be moved or destroyed.

So... he will ask her to marry him in Vol. 11.
