Ep 12 (Finale)
This series ... Man. Definitely one of the best series of the season for me - I enjoyed every minute of it and found the story and setting and characters (and the OST was absolutely fantastic!) interesting, engaging and was more invested than I expected to be quite early on. A great and yet a sad ending. 9.0 - 9.25 out of 10 from me.

the middle of the show was so tonally different from the first and last episodes. it always had that dark undercurrent, but it finally reared it's head and hit straight on this ep. self sacrifice always gets me, and this ep had no shortage on that. when Kutori said, "i'm already the happiest i could be" i was just like, "oh god, why do this to me." it got even worse at the end when lizard-bro was looking at the pictures. so to the non novel reader, it seems like Willem didn't accomplish his last goal but obviously the two pings mean something.

Well we all knew it was coming, but that didn't much to soften the blow. The ending had quite the impact, but I can also see it leaving a bad taste in some anime only watchers. We can only hope that there will be a season 2.
I could listen to the OST for this series all day long

I would have preferred it if they cut out the last scene and made it a closed story, primarily about Willem and Chtholly. It would have made for better closure, even if it is tragic.
As for the unanswered questions, they are certainly tempting, but I find that answering them is not necessary. The setting is a stage upon which the characters act, and the strength of the character interactions is what drives this series. It is sufficient that the series drops enough details to suggest a coherent world, but it is not necessary to address all the details. Now... about those LNs... |

LNs got significant bust from anime (not so significant as Eromanga or Akashi but it was not that popular from the start) so slim chances for more of this are still present, although I doubt we get any sort of sequel.

Beautiful finale although the conclusion felt a bit open ended.
I think for what's worth, the show captured the emotions of what I had expected and I'm satisfied. Chtholly, the happiest girl in the world ;_;

Sadly the likelihood of this getting a seocnd season seems low and I really can't be bothered to read the novel.
The note which with they ended it was a bit strange too - I really hope they don't go 'Willhelm and Ran will be missing for 15 years until she grows up again and then she suddenly gets her memory back' Edit: I also hope they don't go with that all 3 f them get reborn together now Willem and the other girl didn't die on screen at all, hence they might be alive. edit2: Oh damn, which volume did they end this on? I got curious
