Well, another great adaptation directly from the books. Although next one will be the last episode...

Any one knows how in terms of success/audience this TWGOK season is having in Japan?

I thought this episode was fantastic. TWGOK has been at its best when it confronts, but never truly answers the question of whether Keima is a god among men, or a pitiable fraud. This week, he fluctuates a couple of times.

I knew from last week's preview that this was going to be total chaos, as the usual rules are thrown out the window, and he just has to start throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, but I admit I was not expecting the full white horse and tuxedo routine. They did a great job demonstrating his obsession with creating an ideal artifice, and appropriately, that's precisely the opposite of what Ayumi wants from him right now.

Chihiro's situation is going to break my heart at least once more before this is all over, isn't it?

I'm not sure how I should feel about Chihiro this episode. Should I pity her? Should I be angry at her? Should I praise her? There were a lot of ups and downs this episode, and she was a major factor in it. She understands the stakes, but she can't control her feelings.

I mean, if they directly told her that the world will end if Keima does not conquer Ayumi, I wonder if Chihiro will act any differently? Probably not, which could be interpreted as selfishness, pain, or vindictiveness.

I'm looking forward to the ending, although the ending title is kind of mortifying. "The Memory of My First Love." It sounds like an obituary. I'm sure Keima will pull through, but that title is so ominous.

Lols, between "Marriage is the ultimate ending" and "For it to happen certain criteria must be met. The connection must have begun in childhood," Kami is on the Tenri route already and he doesn't even know it. Heck his line "Do not use the term 'marriage' lightly" mirrors exactly what he said when using the term 'osananajimi' during the Tenri arc. At the very least, he got that trope right to a tee.

Excellent episode. Everything from I think it was last week was all amazing in the manga and thankfully they seem to be doing it justice in the anime too. Can't wait to see the finale

Due to the fact that Ayumi was his first heroine conquered in his harem. Dang, I think I like Ayumi even more this time.

And the reaction of Ayumi's parents were priceless. Her dad was pissed though.

PS: Is this ED song sang by all 7 VA's?

At first I was angry at her for seemingly ruining everything even though she knew what was at stake, but I understand her feelings. I myself have always been bothered by the way Keima treats the heroines. It was nice to see his methods and feelings finally questioned. Although it may not have been his intention (and it's not like he really had a choice in the matter...), the fact remains he's played with girls' hearts. He's made tons of girls fall for him without ever intending to commit to one of them. That's not how a gentleman acts.

This time it looks like he's serious. I don't think they will actually end up being married, but he's at least proven he is willing to commit and does respect the girls' feelings. I lol'd when he showed up on a white horse. Where did he even find it at this time of night?

That was great. I didn't think they would go there, but I'm glad they did.

I think any proper dad would be a little distressed if his young daughter brought home a boy he'd probably never even seen before and told him they were getting married.

Ah, Ayumi. She's always been my favorite. As he said, she's truly the first and final heroine!

Admittedly this wasn't quite as dramatic as I remember it being in the manga, though the humor was still there. It sort of felt like they were pacing it a tad too quickly, not giving enough time to really let the dialogue sink in. All the same though, I finally got to see Ayumi's second romance animated and that is more than good enough for me.

Edit: People have commented about whether or not it's all just an act, or if Keima actually values them. It goes without saying that it's the latter. It wasn't quite as dramatized here as in the manga, but when Keima gets upset over Kanon's stabbing he gets pretty upset.

Maybe this is just the Chihiro fanboy locked deep inside my heart talking, but Ayumi never seemed particularly important, even right now in her own arc. She's the obstacle to overcome, the reward to be won, the MacGuffin to resolve the story arc. There's no reason you can't personally like her as much as you want, but it's hard for me to see why these episodes would appeal to you much. This is very much Chihiro and Keima's story right now.

...it is of course always worth noting that the title of the next episode is Chihiro's character theme.

What kind of pathetic gal-gamer would he be if he couldn't fall in love with every single heroine over and over again? There's really no point in playing those sorts of games unless you have an overabundance of empathy.

Looks like this episode wasn't a real blast. This thread even doesn't have a second page.

^I believe that's because this is a rather niche kind of anime and the third season at that. I'm sure many didn't even make it past s1 or s2 and dropped it half-way for whatever reason. Plus most of the audience is manga readers who don't really have much to say anyway, unless it's comparisons which go to the other thread. It's extra saddening because a lot of those source material viewers are dissatisfied at this adaption (I think).

I've personally had a blast with both anime and manga so far and will definitely marathon the whole series once it's ended. And then to hope for a fourth season...
