Out of Sight and Other Animated Shorts

I came across a cool short film, just thought I should share it. Feel free to post other animated shorts as well!

Description:
Quote:
This is a graduation Production made by three students graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts.

The main character of little girl in the story confronts a robbery and strays from the road she is familiar with. After passing a hedge, she enters an unknown world and unfolds a magical adventure depending on senses other than vision and her imagination. With soft and cute colors as the main key, we used simple designs to depict the little girl's imaginary world.

Saw this a few weeks back at the Katawa Shoujo forums. Yeah, definitely top rate heartwarming stuff.

Am I slow, or did I just take nearly 2 minutes to realise that she's blind?

The girl has a nice outlook of life. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. She certain made gallons out of that one lemon.

Very nice indeed! It took me awhile to realize she was blind as well. Thank you for sharing this with us!

kind of makes you wonder...are the 'disabled' ones really us, the ones who have largely lost our imaginations due to our view of life.

It's wonderful how a simple, five-minute animated short can hold my attention for so long and brighten up a working day. So much said with so few words — that's storytelling boiled down to its most heartwarming essence.

Thanks for sharing.

This is such a heart-warming little movie I think it really shows us how anyone can enjoy life despite your shortcomings. I like how she let her imagination fly because she wasn't able to see. Seriously, this movie is really well made.

IIRC this was made by some Taiwanese film animation students as their final project. If I was their professor I'd have given that the highest possible grade on the spot. I would definitely like to see any future projects these students might do.

Here's a suggestion: Although we do have a long-buried video thread in the General Chat forum (I know it's out there, just can't find it at the moment), I'm wondering if this thread could go further by featuring other animated shorts?

It seems there's a wealth of them out there — mostly indie efforts and many worth sharing.

I sorta noticed she was blind before she entered through the fence (when she was touching all sorts of areas on the fence) but that would have been an obvious way to see her being blind.

I'm surprised myself that three students could make such a heartwarming video like this.

I downloaded it. It's wonderfully made, although I think it's sad that her imagination left her when she found Coco the dog.

Well... I was thinking of something more like Fumiko's Confession but, in any case, the suggestion seemed stillborn. Which is fine, really, since Out of Sight is good enough to have its own fan-thread.
