I know that the king treats the lacrima/friends badly, but if he charges at the king that will only end bad.
1) He will blow their cover 2) They will get arrested 3) Will never save their friends 4) Get turned into lacrima as well 5) Will turn all the people against him who might go against the king once they find out the truth |

I didn't like this arc that much in the manga, but the anime is doing a really great job with it!
Is anyone else starting to seriously love Gajeel now? I never realized just how intelligent and interesting he is until this arc, and his Edolas counterpart is equally awesome. |

I was pretty worried when Gajeel swung the sword at the lacrima. A serious case of "what the heck are you doing, that's your guild in there!" The only logical explanation is that Mystogan explained more to Gajeel and that doing this would release everyone from the lacrima state. Otherwise even he wouldn't do something do insane as attacking it.
A rare but great badass moment for Happy. Definitely a moment to step up and act. Clearly the only one of the two of them that could speak up. Happy has no memories and at least can be more certain that his actions were his own. While the orders and the results may have lined up the feelings of Carla were genuine. She followed the information because they lined up with her feelings. Maybe the orders pushed her in a direction but it was her own feelings that carried her the rest of the way. But seriously are the Exceeds idiots? They seriously expected two small talking cats to kill a dragon slayer? Are they seriously underestimating mages from Earthland? I suppose anything is possible (gain trust and stab them in the heart while they sleep), but seems like a pretty odd plan. Plus if they sent that many to Earthland where are they all? You'd think we'd have seen more than 2 in the entire series.

And Gajeel continues to be the highlight of the Edolas arc. I must say, even though most of the action scenes are pretty tame, the amount of filling of plotholes this anime does is really lifting it up.
Indeed. Spoiler for Episode 83:

Wait, is this the first time that Charle called Happy by his name, "Happy"? Wow, that is a huge step up, and it shows how much higher she thinks of him now.
As for the Exceeds, I still have no idea why they are feared so much. Yes, the queen appears to be pure evil, but if you don't have the power to back it up, no one should fear you like that. I can't wait to find out why they are so feared. Who knows? Happy and Charle might have a power-up this arc as well.
