I read through random threads, and have heard plenty of criticism for the last Naruto episode translated by SO...but...I was never able to discover what exactly was wrong. I don't want to continue feeling like I missed something imporant, so could I please be enlightened?

Something about them translating a line as oro wanting to kill off all the Uchiha, which is far from what he said.

oh yeah, that's the guys I downloaded from! SO!.. and yeah I remember that line, when I got the anbu ones, they were totally diff from anything SO had said. o.o

I knew something was wrong as soon as Itachi said "Please don't hurt me" or something along those lines. That totally made him look like a wimp even if it's sarcastic.

pretty big diffrence there. I mean come on you can hear the guy say her name how did they get that wrong?

I'm no editor but... did they really have "thats" instead of "that's" and "your" instead of "you're"? If so,where was quality check?! For both groups.

It's probably cos kuruina sounds like kowaina - thats scary

Not to mention what they left out about the sand. The way they have said sorry

and that it was all Oro's fault. That bit was in the scene with Jiairya.

Edit: S.O are the best now though

Nah, i'm sure they'll have it okay soon - you can't expect a new fansub group to be perfect - they are only doing it in their spare time and for the benefit of everyone.

Some would say A-A isn't great translations... and Bakasan is great - it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Give them time!

I just hope people aren't dissing us for this one episode alone. We've done lots better in the past and I'm pretty certain we will in the future again, heh heh. Naruto 82, hm... *should get to work*

I think that there are people comenting about this, that mean they care. So just take it as a feedback, something you can reflect on your next projects. ^^

Kidd, I personally think that it's better when people actually put time an effort to critize your work, for good or bad, it means there are people paying attention to your work.

Now on this matter, please don't take this to heart, I don't think they shoot you because you're a newcomer. I think they shoot you because you messed up the lines for their beloved Itachi.

There is a bit of a "shoot the newcomer" mentality... but it's very slight, and only from a few people. It's mostly true than the new groups need improvement (which includes the group I'm in, ToTan, but I think we've already gotten better, still need work).

I agree with Secca, you should take it as a positive that you have people downloading your release that are intellegent. Take it as constructive criticism.

I would suggest a v2 release, if/when you can find the time.

CompShrink, what series are you at ToTan translating and into what language? I might want to pick your subs up, heh heh. Sorry I'm not looking it up myself atm but this is just another super-short break from Naruto 82.

BTW, last episode notwithstanding, I think S-O is doing very well for a new group. Much better than the other Naruto subbers, other than AonE-ANBU, who all seem to use bakasan's scripts...

EDIT: And other than TW of course...
