It looked better but was even more boring than Long Riders.

I enjoyed Long Riders up to the last episode... the trials of Ami in becoming a cyclist, taking part time jobs to buy bike.. etc. In comparison... this show has 2 episodes I enjoyed.. the grandma ep and the one where two people had to race up a hill... the rest of the Minami episodes that I've watched are just bad, boring, or a combination of both.

I very much agree. I haven't completed the show, but I also found myself enjoying those two episodes you mentioned.
