Dog Days

From what I can gather, picture the offspring of Zero no Tsukaima and Nanoha's aesthetics.

Ah yes, the elusive Mahou Shounen makes a rare appearance...

A second reading of that scan reveals the interesting fact that all of the females are named after sweet pastries, generally Italian ones... It's from Seven Arcs (Nanoha) and stars none other than Horie Yui and Yagami Light himself, Miyano Mamoru. This is relevant to my interests.

It's from the creator of Nanoha - basically another Aniplex attempt to create a big hit from scratch using successful talent (Angel Beats, Madoka Magica, Fractale, Anohana).

No, Fractale is a Asmik Ace title.

I hope you're not implying that it would, in theory, be impossible to do so.

Everything on your list there except for Angel Beats hasn't aired yet, and Angel Beats failed due to sheer incompetency on the part of its staff.

Time will tell whether sticking ten brilliant people in a room together can actually produce something of value, but I think at least one of those shows will succeed.

Angel Beats is one of the best selling anime tv shows of all time, if that's not considered a hit to the people who financed and backed the show I don't know what is. Going by this top 25 it would be in the 14th slot.. that list is of course dated and you have MF, Geass R2, two K-ON! series and two 00 series to have sold better.. but that only means it goes to being the 21st best seller for anime tv shows.

Bottom line for the guys putting up the money for Dogs Day, Angel Beats, Madoka Magica, Fractale, Anohana.. a critical hit but commercial failure like Baccano! would be a disaster, a critical hit and commercially successful production like Durarara would be fantastic, but if it sells as good as Angel Beats who cares even if it sucks according to critics.

When people are out to make a "bit hit" I doubt they care if the product is actually "quality", heck if it's popular enough in the first place they'll have legions of fans to argue why it's "quality" anyway..

*has a little gander at the pics*

*spies a long sliver haired beauty with animal ears and a white corset*

*is officially sold*

*and then spies a super mega cute brown hair girl with animal ears and the cutest smile ever*

*is now zealous devout of the Dog Days anime!*

d(^_^)b

This looks very promising and well as one can guess I really love the way it looks
plus Miyano Mamoru is the VA for the MC.

While looking at the thread title, I thought Kane And Lynch 2: Dog Days would have an anime adapatation lol.

Is it just me, or does Shinku Izumi (majo shounen) look like a cross between Cless from Tales of Phantasia, Cou Van Giruet from Elemental Gelade, and Jaden Yuuki from Yugioh GX?

So this show is ZnT by the creators of Nanoha? Honestly, it looks like crap to me but it all depends on how they play it...

Very early 2000s, either way.

Maeda's popularity is in the gutter because of it, though. Poor Maeda.

Well, what I think Aniplex is trying to do is create the 'next Haruhi', in the sense of a production with high staying power and a massive, devout fanbase. So far they've failed to do that, at least from my point of view.

I think this may be the closest thing we get to a new Nanoha series for now! I'm in!

Hmm, Dog Days has nothing to do with Nanoha, even they are from Seven Arcs studio.
