Well, this week's episode bought back some of the Haruhi nostologia I remembered in particular the second half.

Either in the last episode or you should hope in second season.

Endless Eight chapter is very close, but it's hard to say whether they don't stop right before this chapter. There are two compelling reasons why they could.

This was another great episode, and I'm happy to see the consistency in quality throughout (except some minor parts).

Two more episodes. Now how will this end?

EDIT: Just saw a nicovideo comparing the EDs for ep 9, 12, 13 and 14. Nice touches there.

Finally, the terrible Disappearance arc is over and Haruhi is back. I always felt pretty ambivalent towards Haruhi in her original show (she could be really annoying at times), but this show has made me realize how utterly boring Nagato is and how much fun Haruhi can bring. I'm also happy Turkey Nagato is back, at least she doesn't make me sleepy every time she starts talking.

Funny how a spin-off of all things could make me change my outlook this much.

I'll miss you akward ayanami-style Nagato. Oh... welcome back moeblob Nagato! And at least more Haruhi!

Well... sadly I thought it was a little missed opportunity here with Tanabata... all we got was the clearification of a small flashback we already got some episodes ago. The fateful meeting of Haruhi and "Kyohn" (Yeah... combining Kyon and John maybe isn't that a good idea lol).
But nothing more than that. Okay thanks to "Alien" Nagato's confession Kyon is a lot more aware of her.
Haruhi on the other hand is going somewhat all "He, it's alright if he she is not remembering..." srysly girl, are you now a contestant or are you not? Okay actualyl I don't really care... just stay Haruhi.
And again I can't stress enough how much I like Hirano's voice work.

She's always been a wonderful voice actress. It's the Japanese otakus' unreasonable attitude toward their voice actresses that hurt her career.

Great episode and i love how they continue to bring back some history from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Look forward to the next episode.
