According to the guys who were translating it, the publisher dropped it at volume 2 and a new version took its place with a new artist. They weren't feeling the new art style so they tentatively dropped it. Can't blame them, the new art style definitely feels like a downgrade and looks like a mess since there's more blurring between the characters and background due to that artist's style so it's not really a joy to look at. Either way there are clearly some issues going on behind the scenes of the manga adaptation.
And whoever is translating the WN seems to have more or less dropped it and is only releasing a chapter every couple of months now so someone doesn't claim it since they're technically still 'working' on it. From the layout of their site they were clearly doing it for the ad revenue and they weren't getting enough visitors for the series to even bother with it anymore. It's no big loss since they were clearly machine translating it and didn't have even a rudimentary knowledge of Japanese or English. Not just for this series but for some of the other series they rush to pick up once whoever was working on it drops it for whatever reason. |

WN version is over, but LN version is ongoing.
LN Vol 12 released in Japan on Jun 15, 2019. https://www.es-novel.jp/booktitle/12jinrou12_r.php New illustrator Teshima Nari replaces the previous one, eromangaka Nishieda. Author says the editorial board suggested the illustrator change due to "the change in the story's atmosphere". Author was disappointed as they liked Nishieda's art, but also felt the thematic change warranted a new artstyle too. https://mypage.syosetu.com/mypageblo...ogkey/2220135/ Quote:

Been reading the J-Novel club version in Kindle. I really like the way the author has fleshed out the characters and their particular mannerisms.
Almost done with Vol 5. Just wishing the official translation could go faster since it'll take another 2 volumes to finish this arc. Really want to see at least the illustrations of the coming volumes

Jinrou Tensei's author says in Vol 15's afterword that they want Vol 16 to be the final book that wraps up this series for good. 16 is still not out yet though.
Which sort of makes sense, given Vol 12 onwards was basically the afterstories starring Veight's daughter. |
