i' m not sure the titan part in that car commercial is also a spoof on that infamous Subaru Attack on Titan tie in car ad,

so Bomber & Kirie are like brother like sister, both can't recognize the exact same person, in Kirie's case she did not notice both Komaru & Umaru are the same girl & Bomber can't recognize his own sister down to her own voice when she talks, or beat him up

To be fair to Kirie, Umaru seems to really chibify in-universe.

It's kinda odd. I rather disliked "Ore no Imouto" as well as the general archetype of its heroine, yet I don't mind Umaru's character at all. Guess it's partly because both series are two different genre - one a more serious, real-life drama while is over is a light-hearted, slice-of-life comedy. And also because Umaru never crosses that line with Taihei where her antics have gone too far compared to Kirino's relationship with her own brother. Not to mention Umaru's chibi-form wins bonus points for being so adorably cute~

At any rate, this was a nice anime which I'm glad I picked up since it got me reading the manga version. It was adapted well by the studio so I hope they'll animate a sequel for this series sometime in the future.

they got enough material for second season...
and the adaptation really covered all nice points from the manga
All the characters are likable

Hopefully we got second season soon.. I think this anime got the best opening of the season

Yup, that's Umaru's special power.

She's able to control how she looks at will at anytime she wants.

If you place a chibi hamster-like thing next to a hawt babe, you too would not make the connection they're the same people, lol.

Speaking of swimsuits, lol at Sylphin poping out of no where with a weird pose, that's some coincidence. (Sylphin is quite cute the more you look at her wiggy fun antics)

And again... Ebina best girl, she's a frikin Goddess in here.

Umaru makes Kirino from Oreimo look like an angel in comparison. Umaru has to be the most annoying little shit of the year. And it's bloody intentional too. Not sure I should take the bait and be infuriated or just go "Well played"

Which episode you're currently in?
I hope you enjoy the ride till the end.

It's may differ for each person, but for me, that's actually how sibling relationship are. Some Umaru and Taihei interactions in a few scene also really hit home. Overall, it's pretty enjoyable for me.

I didn't care for Umaru's antics in the beginning either, and found her quite annoying, but she really grew on me. You can tell she actually loves her brother, and isn't a tsun like Kirino holding a grudge against her brother. I still can't stand Kirino.

I don't know why people expect characters in a comedy show to be good people. It's like expecting Joey in FRIENDS to be able to stick to one girl, or expecting the characters of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun not to flatter Mikoshiba into doing things he doesn't want to do

Anyhoo, the OVA was enjoyable for me, little more than more Umaru shenanigans...I thought the first "skit" about the insta-crit hit pillow was the best of them

Not necessarily a pillow, but i have sat on a couch like that...so comfortable it sucks you in and immediately puts you to sleep. Dangerous stuff!

To me the main difference between Kirino and Umaru is the B*&ch factor, Umaru never acts like one. She knows she is spoiled and doesn't always expect to get her way and when she does she is actually grateful for it. She is never condescending to her brother, and acts like a little sister should towards him.

Ok, stuck it up to episode 8 (the christmas episode)... and you guys were right. The series turned from being irrating as hell... to pretty heartwarming/bittersweet. Episode 8 in particular hit me a little regarding Kanau. Although not where the majority of focus is, my favorite bits are definitely scenes showing Taihei and his workplace and colleagues.
