i just downloaded it but it doesnt work everytime i use kazaa or windowsmedia player it sais that it's an uknown avi file, did anyone have this type of proble, and how do u fix it?

Did you read the Media Configuration Guide?

Download ffdshow Alpha from the Media Configuration Guide. Make sure you have removed all other codecs from your computer first, that includes codec packs an such. With ffdshow Alpha you are able to playback virtually any divx/xvid avi file available today. ffdshow Alpha will not playback OGG, OGM, MKV, RM, etc. files, for that please refer to the Media Configuration Guide .
