As for the anime, at least we get a double team of Ginei and and Inner Moka, Ginei really needs some serious air time in the anime, glade R+V manga made it come true in the siren arc.

I read the manga first and tried to watch some of the anime afterwards and couldn't really get through it. It really seemed like they sacrificed 3 hours of story for 3 hours of panty shots and ecchi hijinks. I'm a girl so I'll pass on those, thanks. Having Tsukune stay weak and wimpy almost the entire time doesn't help either.

Not only that, the voice acting was getting to me. Omote's voice was too high, Ura-chan's voice was too low and manly, and Tsukune's voice was too wimpy. This is quickly degenerating into a another "bash the anime" discussion. |

Abominable snow girl? I rest my case. Oh, and they put boxes over stuff instead of re-drawing. That really pissed me off. However, I am surprised that the author doesn't submit in layers of some sort so that the text can be taken right off per say. They also made stupid mistakes like switching names in boxes with a character's picture in it and mixed up monster names in the boxes too.

If anything, they're just spelling it phonetically.

Yeah there is, it's similar to what the Wong sister is. I remember watching some movies with my parents back when I was a kid, it had to these monsters that came back from the dead and seeked out blood, two effective ways of stopping them is to place a spell talisman on them or placing.. um... I think it was salt, on the ground.
My mom told me they were vampires.

There is. But western are so popular that even in eastern countries the western image of vampires becomes more dominant. But there certainly is eastern image of vampires.

Like a vampire cannot enter the house unless invited. vampire can turn into a mist and enter the house (which objects the first stereotype), vampires cannot cross the moving water (rivers, streams, etc, because it is 'living' water) and many other things. In each region there a few different things about them, though it still seems the western and eastern images do have a more differences. |

It's surprising but every monster has different origins in each culture through out time. R+V has had a nice blend of all of the different monsters around the world. Mizore is a prime example and because of what monster she is, her name was ruined when brought to NA. They essentially changed what kind of monster she is since she is different from the abominable snowman. They changed her name to match the mythos of NA and that was wrong, so very wrong.
