The pairings for the quarterfinals are really interesting. I like that they partnered Saki to Nodoka this early and the same with Kuro and Yuu since at least novelty wise, things will get fairly interesting. Saki Vs. Nodoka was supposed to happen back in 2009 but Nagi cockblocked Saki for the block finals. It's gonna be really interesting seeing who wins in this one since while Nodoka is the overwhelming favorite, Saki managed to beat Koromo which is nothing to scoff at. Kuro Vs. Yuu is also really interesting since we really don't know which of the two sisters is more popular (I'd say Kuro but stats wise say Yuu). Louise-Toki is gonna end with Louise losing at the quarterfinals again (I can't believe she managed to do this 3 times) while Shana might just beat Hisa in that hell match.
Predictions: Toki, Nodoka, Kuro, Shana

The Shana/Hisa match coming at the end plays right into the hands of the Saki faction. They are going to want to get all four semifinal places, and Toki beating Louise won't cause any ripples, it's to be expected; but Hisa beating Shana would be the sort of upset that might invite a backlash. With the match coming at the end, any backlash would be irrelevant: at that point Sakimoe would have been achieved.

The top 8 begins now. 3 matches between Toki and championship and Louise is up to try and stop her. This is a critical match for the Saki series win streak. Toki winning here would guarantee a minimum win streak of 23 which beats the Madoka win streak of 22. When the Madoka series did that, I didn't think it would ever be beaten and yet here it is being threatened just a year later! Toki is also here to get a bit of voice actress revenge for Hinata who Louise just knocked out last round. Looking at their past records, Louise doesn't stand a chance against Toki. Louise will need nothing less than a miracle for every win from here on out. I wouldn't bank on her getting one. Toki will advance.
Vote: Onjouji Toki Prediction: Onjouji Toki

And so it begins. The beginning of the end, that is. Both of my Neutral End girls are duking it out today. As the frontrunner to win it all since the start, Toki has the perception advantage while Louise goes in as the underdog. It would take a miracle for Louise to win this one, I agree - but miracles and magic do exist™, so I won't go so far as to say her chances in this are zero.

Round 1: Picks (45-43-8), Predictions (69-27)
Round 2: Picks (12-20), Predictions (22-10) Round 3: Picks (7-9), Predictions (13-3) Round 4: Picks (4-4), Predictions (6-2) Q Finals: Picks (0-0), Predictions (0-0) Toki Louise I don't really care for either character much, but I really want Louise to win just because it would shake things up. This Saimoe really needs some excitement. Strangely enough, I think Louise has the best chance of anyone to knock Toki out, just because she's so unpredictable. |

Vote totals are indeed looking a bit low for a QF match even for this year's standards. With fakes, surely. And it's not even an intra faction match.
Let's see if the closing rushes later can fix that...

Totals still approaching a cricket match and not the high numbers we have been used to at this stage. "Might" even be close but with the 'whole-lotta-faking-going-on' it is mission:impossible to tell, not even Jim Phelps' team could find a straight answer at this juncture.
