There are 3 possible reasons or maybe even more to how Haruhi ended behind Kyon:

1. Post #429 of this thread, my earlier post here mentioned that this happened purely as coincidence.

Kyon came to this school, North High because Haruhi wished for it, with 2 reasons. One is John Smith, which is believed by most people. The other reason is that Haruhi wanted to meet a person who would listen to her, who would relate to her, someone she can talk to. Or in other words she's looking for someone she can love and be loved. And this person is Kyon.

Kyon is both John Smith and her 'Prince Charming'.

She might have wanted to sit behind someone that would become her boyfriend and thus ended up behind Kyon.

All 3 of these songs belong to the single: Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsumeawase.

The OP for episode 1 is Koi no Mikuru Densetsu sung by Asahina Mikuru, voice actress - Yuko Goto

Both songs sung by Haruhi in episode 12 are called 'God Knows...' and 'Lost My Music' respectively. Haruhi's voice actress is Hirano Aya.

All 3 songs are written by Kouzaki Satoru.

I have a question about the Haruhi Suzumiya downloads.

I can't upload them anywhere...I can't even watch them anymore. I downloaded them on a CD and tried playing them...but it won't ever connect. It always gives me an error saying "Cannot reach codec". I tried downloading this on a 100 disks but nothing works. Can someone please help me?

I assume that whatever media player you are using is trying to download the required codec to play those files... If that is the case go here: http://www.cccp-project.net/

Download and install the codec pack and you should be able to play your files.

I believe your source was AnimeNfo, they had the VA wrong for Mikuru.

anyway, i just watched episode 4 for the first time, i saw episode 3 a long time ago. i think the plot jump was way too huge. they liked skipped over the whole suzumiya has special powers thing.

just to be sure i was not crazy and missed something and i rewatched episode 2 and 3 and nope, they didnt mention any of that stuff. then i saw episode 4 again and at the beginning kyon barely mentions the warp incident. episode 4 just starts out with kyon protecting the world with baseball. i wonder why the large gap? maybe i should check out the book stories.

Well, if you've watched the episode 4 preview at the end of episode 3, you'll see why. Every second of this show must be watched and taken note of.

The only way to solve your confusion on why there's such a jump is to watch episode 5, then episode 6, episode 7... one by one until episode 14.

Please read a bit of the threads... the vast majority of posts discuss the effect, reasons, and technique -- that the episodes are being presented OUT OF TIME ORDER ... episode 4 is a jump ahead, episode 5 is back to just after 3 and it gets completely disoriented from there --- this is a science fiction show and there's some very strange stuff going on from Kyon's perspective.

What C.A. said.. in the preview for the next episode of each show, listen to what Kyon says the episode number is and then to what Haruhi says the episode number is ... they're not the same.
