do we know when the Adele is going to debut though? since the Genoace custom is the Genoace 2?

If the Genoace II is a new model built off the Genoace Custom, that would mean that the Genoace Custom was considerably different from the original Genoace. And now, we don't have a plot hole anymore for why the GC can use the DOTS and the G-I cannot.

G-I just sucks, really, really hard.

Maybe...

im lazy, so im just going to copy + paste what i wrote in the other thread

they might be doing something like GM > RGM, since the Genoace 1 and Custom seem to use the same base frame

The old Genoace's gets refitted into Genoace 2's with Dods-esque rifles while the new production line is the Adele?

It seems plausible seeing how age is going for the " same same but different " Gundam route, AGE-1(MSG) >AGE-2(Zeta) > AGE-3(Double Zeta) in terms of overall design.

Lazy is fine, no need to repeat oneself if the point hasn't changed.

My understanding is that the GC is an upgrade to the base frame, not a new frame entirely, and, rightfully, the G-II looks almost identical to the old G-I. What I'd imagine is different in the GC from G-I, aside from its booster and extra armor, is a better power source to feed said booster and allow it to move with the additional armor. (In this way, we can go with Rising Dragon's explanation of the DOTS rifle being limited by energy for the G-I, and also explain away why the GC can use the DOTS.)

The Adele is going to be the G-Ex equivalent (for the best pilots), built (as was the G-Ex) off the frame of the Gundam AGE-I. We're likely to also see the G-Ex successor be a suit based on the base model of the AGE-II, which will be piloted by whoever succeeds Woolf.

If I am to break it down, it would be something like this:
G-I (Gen I) -> G-II (Gen II)
G-C (Gen I) -> Adele (Gen II)
G-Ex (Gen I) -> ??? (Gen II)
AGE-I (Gen I) -> AGE-II (Gen II)

Makes sense to me, with your more important/skilled pilots using the Adele, your exceptional using ???, and Asem using AGE-II.

Alright, I have to ask: Are those the ratings, or the shares? They're two very different things.

Thanks for the data, Brightman.

Right now, AGE is hovering in Gundam X ratings territory. It's safe to say that they aren't attracting younger fans. Surprisingly, the least volatile group of viewers with substantial viewership are females from 20-34. Younger mothers, it would seem like.

I thought I read somewhere that women in Japan (or maybe Asia in general) are marrying later in life. If that's true, then the 20-34 age group should be women who are entering/in the workforce.

Gundam X wasn't this bad when it had a regular timeslot, its move to an early morning slot dragged its ratings down.

Breakdowns for Turn A were not archived by the Japanese National Diet Library.

Also note that the numbers for MSG to X are incomplete. Victory in particular seems to be listing ratings for higher viewership episodes... Overall average rating for that show was actually lower than G and Wing.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Ratings are kinda useless for looking at how many people are watching a show.

Useless or not, that's what sponsors and advertisers look at in the Japanese TV industry.

Also they have a %total individuals rating that I also included (if available), not just a %total households rating.

Yeah, they're looking at it wrong. A rating doesn't tell you a damned thing if you don't know how many people are watching TV while the show is airing. That's what the shares are for.

Its not difficult to analyze and predict what a good rating for a particular timeslot is based on historical evidence.

well, the good news is, they seem to be trying to pick it up with Gen 2, that might get some people who didn't give it a chance to watch...
On the other hand it's sad they had to get these ratings to realize they were approaching their goal all wrong when it was pretty obvious this would happen.

Worst case scenario: what does it mean for the franchise, if the ratings remain bad? Longer wait for the next series? Lower budget? Hope not

Yeah, but as someone mentioned earlier it's what the sponsors look at, if it's not popular they wont spend more money on it

if ratings keep going down odds are it'll get a timeslot change, if that doesnt help, the same fate as Gundam X i'd assume.

We do have Origin around the corner, and UC episodes 5/6, i bet it wont affect other Gundam related shows if AGE would be cancelled

they'd get the money from SEED, Unicorn and Origin most likely. So I don't think the franchise threads dangerous waters for now.

Implying that Origins is ANYWHERE near completion or release.

They'll still get loads of money from it once it is released.

Exactly, i wouldn't worry about Gundam as a whole, it's fine with both the Seed remaster and UC currently running.

odds are it isnt, but its " around the corner " still, and every UC fan will most likely watch/buy it, so it's a upcoming cashcow for Bandai.

It's when ratings and model kit sales for AGE starts to tank that we should worry about its cancellation.
