I've no issue with it, had no trouble at all watching it on TV. But face it, there's always going to be a loss of quality on the TV since the TV isnt as good as a monitor, so your going to get a little fuzzyness.

Then we hear what sounds to me like Senna's voice, telling him he can't - he's promised her they'd be together.

I wonder... if Haruhi is merely resuming some kind of earlier tug-of-war with Senna over Junna, is she as normal as she seems, either?

Has anyone else noticed the similarities between Haruhi and Senna. In the opening credits there's 2 scenes where they're next to each other. The first they're cut in half side by side, though one is upside down, and the second is at the end where they're hugging Junna and having a face off. Taking hair and eye colour out, they're almost identical, almost like part of the same family.

As for if Senna is a magickal thing, think of Kanon, Ayu was in hospital but her 'spirit' was running around the town and interacting with people.

I think your right on the tug of war thing, i think we have the old love triangle surfacing again, Senna > Junna <Haruhi, both want him and both want him bad. Thats made clear at the end of episode 3 and during episode 4. Look at Haruhi's reaction to when they first see each other. Then look at Senna's face. Then in episode 4 when Junna gives up and says Haruhi can come with him and again aty Senna's face as she hides.

Then there's Senna's flash back at the end, when they were little, and she was saying that they;d always be together, and her words 'your my own personal onii chan' give me the shivers.

Then as Junna and Haruhi are walking off into the sunset their conversation. I highly susspect that Haruhi and Senna secretly hate each other, cause they both know the other wants Junna. Much like Nemo and Sakura from Da Capo.

Also, bear in mind that IF my theory from earlier that Junna is hospital and this is all in his head (or in Senna's or Haruhi's or hell all three) little things like people recognizing them, interacting and stuff would all be handled subconsiously, and the 'reality' altered to cover it more. Problems arise though when the person who is creating the 'reality' starts to question it and has doubts, again think of Ayu in Kanon. When she relised her school was a tress stump and all the rest the 'reality' she created fell apart.

All in all, i think this show has some amazing potential, possibly for a second season aswell, since i dont think 12 episodes will be enough to do it justice.

On the quality issue again, i love the way FB have subbed the intor, the karaoke is just great, it isnt sprawled all over the screen.

My only pet peeve, and this is with all groups lately, is the new trend of translating titles liske onii-chan, onee-chan and sensei. I've always thought it kind of ruins the moode of the words a bit, having big brother poping up every few seconds. While onii-chan does mean big brother, i've just always thought onii chan reads and sounds better. A little thing at the top of the screen first time it comes along explaining onii chan means big bro is fine. Originally alot of groups used to do that, but the past 2 seasons or so more and more have been translating them, and i dont really like it.

Not a complaint as such, just a pet peeve of mine

It would be nice to have a second season, but honestly I think they'd just have scheduled a 26-episode run in that case, like Da Capo did.

I don't think Da Capo's Sakura and Nemu actually hated each other at all, but both of them feared losing Junichi and that fueled their open rivalry. So far, Haruhi doesn't even seem to acknowledge Senna's presence, and Senna just worries about Junna from the background - it'll be interesting to see if the school festival brings about any face-to-face conflict over him.

What I find interesting is that, if the flashback-dreams took place at the time of the accident, Senna is already referring to their promise to be together - if she was "created" during the accident or later, then who or what did he make the promise with? And if that was Haruhi he left behind, how did she get back?

Hopefully we'll find out more soon...

The decision of leaving certain words in Japanese and giving their meaning in an editor's note vs. translating it outright has been the subject of much debate. The choice here, imo, is the prerogative of the editors and the translators. While I would have preferred onii-chan, due to the setting, I have no problem with either.

5 was funny as hell, and raised some new thoughts

Haruhi and Senna both have a Juuna complex and need serious therapy heheh. Haruhi throwing herself off the ladders just so she could be carried had me in fits.

Who the hell is Tomo, those words she said on the roof gave me a flash back of Hikari from Wind. Saying that no matter what happens she'd be there watching over, if i was Juuna id be a little worried hehe

Things look set for a really good ending, unless they blow it like they did with wind

Speculation:

A few changed theories and some new stuff thrown into the mix:

Juuna and Senna are really one soul split into 2 after the accident, people are accepting it cause due to some unknown factor.

After rewatching episode 1 i came to the conclusion that Juuna created Senna to helphimself recover. He does say that it was only because of her that he made it through recovery.

Tomo is some sort of supernatural being that caused the accident, and is trying to make up for it by recreating the world that Juuna came from in his mind, while he's lying unconcious in hospital somewhere.

So now that the first ep is out, what do you guys think?

Watched 4 episodes and thus far haven't been too impressed. For one, they use the regular, old theme: jumpy high-school guy and overly-sugarly voiced females. Seen that in several, other series already and nothing new or different in this one either. As a theme, two sisters or childhoods friends having an affair with the protagonist is interesting, but it's lacking in other areas and I got a feeling that they won't dare to take creative steps like the authors of Green Green...

Doubt I watch it again.

Well besides the interesting underlying story, I'm simply tired of these anime where in essence, a sister is too attached and possessive of her bigger brother to let anyone else touch him. I disliked it in Onegai Twins, and I'm dlisking it now.

I'm going to keep watching, however, because at least the backstory is interesting, but Junna, Senna and Haruhi remind me almost exactly of Maiku, Karen and Miina.

Dont get me wrong, i wasnt really complaining, its just a pet peeve of mine. I edit manga now and i always leave them in, since i feel it detracts from the setting a bit. #But like i said, its just a pet peeve of mine

I've seen episode 07, but not 08 (it's not out yet). If I were to post spoiler tags here, I KNOW some of you guys might take a peek. I know people are stupid in these things and the temptation overflows, but let's just be fellow human beings, trying not to encourage temptation.

BTW, episode 06 was neat. Though the show is dragging way too much. If they're going to sum up the whole thing in 3 episodes or something, might as well watch Kanon again (Kanon is a great show, too ;o).

If you dont want to read spoilers then dont reap them, simple as that. Thats what the spoilers are for, discussing things that have happened in recent episodes, speculating on whats happening that sort of thing. Thats what this thread is for, to TALK about the show.

I've said several times before, including in the above post, that it was speculation. My thoughts on where the show could be going. Am i right? Who knows, i wont know till i've seen the show, thats why its called speculation.

Posting spoilers for episodes that havent been released as a fansub yet i feel is wrong, especially if your posting 2 or 3 episodes ahead.

But ultimatly, if you dont want to know, then dont click show, simple as that. As for the pace of the show, its only just reached the halff way mark, so its got plenty of time for wrapping things up.

Juuna, Senna, Haruhi and others start the summer at Tsubasa no senpai beach house. They even organize the beach volleyball contest, z0mg, MOE candy! You can almost see the little girls' crotches nude!

Junna collapses again! He remembered a blurry scene like from the dream about how he'd been running away from Haruhi. He makes a resolution to try and find his memories inspite his sister (Senna) wanting him not to remember them. There's a lovely firework scene in there which has a very symbolic meaning.

I hope it spoiled it for everyone. That's why the spoiler tags are for, right?

Senna and/or Haruhi are dead, and these are really their souls. When Tomo was talking about sparklers and where souls go when humans die... and talking about wishes... My guess is that Senna died, but her wish to always be with her brother was so strong that she stayed as a supernatural being...

Thats pretty similar to what i was thinking after episode 7.

Though i think it's just Senna, since she's always saying she'll always be with him for ever. My other thought was why he lost his memories, Senna made him.

He's her anchor so to speak. So long as he believes she's alive then she is. But is he was to remember that she died in that accudent, then it would all unravel.

Though that doest explain how he got out of that inferno with no injuries, beyond a bit bit of soot and loss of memory. Only time will tell i guess

Well, I watched episode 8, and the more I watch the more I can't stand Senna. It's pretty much established that she knows what's going down but will stop at nothing to prevent her "brother" from finding out. But why? Is it because it's too traumatic? Who knows.

My theory is that if Junna remembers what happened in the past, Senna will cease to exist because all she's living off of is Junna's obliviousness concerning her death.

I'm getting more interested in the story, but I'm hoping Senna dies or something... that's if she's not already dead.
