ANN Headline: Perfect World Romance Manga Gets Live-Action Film.

In her first leading film role, Hana Sugisaki will portray Tsugumi Kawana while Takanori Iwata has been cast as Itsuki Ayukawa. The film will be directed by Kenji Shibayama and is scheduled to open on October 5, 2018.

Tsumasaki no Uchū Live-Action Film Casts Nodoka Kirishima, Ryō Kitamura. Another film announcement relayed from ANN.

The adaptation of Tsumasaki no Uchū sounds interesting because of the choice of a web comic as source as well as for the social commentary in the story. Jarring text representing silence and unintelligible muffled sounds belying inner monologue and turmoil - these will have to be translated into the visual body language of live action by vocalist Nodoka Kirishima as Aki finds her voice. Hope the colour palette is adopted in the process.

Does The Flower Blossom? Boys-Love Manga Gets Live-Action Film, and will open in Japanese theatres on February 24, 2018, according to an update from ANN -and news posted on the official site- which also revealed cast and staff in October 2017.

Film site, manga site w. free preview of Chapter 1. Perhaps the film will rekindle interest in the English translation from Juné as well (site has sample pages).

「夏空」, [Natsuzora], “Summer Sky”. The first NHK “asadora”, morning drama, for 2019 (April to September, 156 episodes, 15 minutes each). Not a live action adaptation of manga or anime but an original story, the 100th consecutive "serial TV novel". Nevertheless interesting because the drama series will be set in the time period immediately after WW2 and will depict the time when Japanese TV animation was in its infancy. To be explored through fictionalised pioneers of the medium.

Today, February 13, 2018, ANN reported that NHK announced a key visual for the live action adaptation: My Brother's Husband Show's Main Visual Recreates Manga Cover. The central trio squarely positioned in front of a Japanese family home. Do not need exact carbon copies but I do hope they're not aiming for "close enough" in the aspects that truly matter.
