Otaku can't take over the world.

Because we can't be gone long enough to miss the next release of our favorite Manga or anime.

Nah, it'll just become like Japan - marketers sucking money out of thousands of kimo-ota with their "oniichan" moe- market tactics. In the end, you have otakus being in debt with over-maximized credit cards who cannot pay their rent or pay their utility bills, with anime merchandising companies making millions out of suckers.

I say....give it five to ten years. That'll be the time moe market madness sweeps across otakus in America with moe~ ero-games.

Of course, that doesn't stop you from becoming the marketer yourself - hey, you can always try making a maid cafe in the U.S. and see how that turns out! Or better yet - a casino in Las Vegas themed to otaku tastes. Hmm...?

Well, if everyone banded together, it might be possible to buy a controlling interest in several large companies, then use them to make more money for otakudom, which could be used to buy other, larger companies, and so on until every corporation on earth was run by otaku. Then, using this powerbase, otaku could influence world politics to get "pro-otaku" legislation passed, and eventually put fellow otaku in charge of all major countries. Thus it would come to pass that otaku took over the world. All without bloodshed, or anyone even noticing. At least until every country changes their national anthem to Neko Mimi Modo.

I have this image of a line of anime artists tied to a bench, scribbling/painting furiously, with a bunch of otakus behind them with small whips for 'encouragement' whenever they drop below a certain number of pencil/brushstrokes per second.

"Faster!" *whips cracking*
"But sir, I have gangrene! My arm has actually fallen off! Can't I have my coffee break 2 minutes early?"
"Hmm...NO!" *very large shotgun blast*

Harsh, but fair.

I would SO love to have a moe cosplay cafe in my neighborhood.

A group of MIT otakus could develop the first Gundam and conquer the world using a popular idol (who's bad a singing) as a figurehead for the movement~

Hahaha.

In all honesty, the principle of MS ain't that complicated. No more complicated than any other heavy machinery we have on earth.

I think coming up with an feasable control interface, and the balancing of the unit, would be the hardest parts. >_>;

I've given it alot of thought, for when I win the lottery ^_^

Now THATS Otaku for you XD

This thread is pointless, rambling and boring. I was hoping that despite its pointless origins, somebody would say something interesting, but what little point it had is already going off-topic. Say goodnight Gracie.

"Goodnight Gracie."
