Ritsuku episode, the preview looks funny. Any idea what are they saying here? http://yaraon.blog109.fc2.com/blog-entry-4988.html |

Midonin's The Two iDOLM@STERs Comparison Diary
Week Seventeen Xenoglossia's been holding off on its Makoto focus, while this week's iM@S was Makoto heavy. I suppose I can save that for a later date. Xenoglossia instead offers up some comparison points on Yukiho and the nature of the rivals in both versions. Triabeater looks to have some of its lower-level employees actively against whatever it is their parent company is planning, while the members of 961 are largely unaware of what Kuroi is doing. Both of them are underhanded, but it's a different kind of underhandedness that goes (under)hand in hand with their respective settings. I've been saying for this whole duration that a lot of what makes the girls in the two shows similar yet different is their circumstances. Yukiho in Xenoglossia is just as shy as her iM@S self was early on, but while her iM@S self has gained some confidence from increased popularity, her Xenoglossia self has been stuck being the middleman for some time now. It finally culminated in her doing something in episode 17. One imagines if she had gotten a job as an iDOL Master, she might have ended up more like her iM@S self. On a final note, there once again seems to be a disconnect between how the two Yukihos react in certain situations. iM@S's is a bundle of energy around the girls (Makoto especially), but retreats into her shell when she's around anyone else. Xenoglossia's Yukiho was pretty open around Hibiki Saku, or least making some cheery polite conversation, while around everyone else she's stoic to the point where she's nearly as bad as her other self. It's a different kind of shyness, but both of them express some issues just beneath the surface. |

Coincidence or foreshadowing ? The clip is from Ryuuguu Komachi's new song (Nanairo Botan) btw. |

Just saw ep 17 ... it's nice to see an ep focus on Makoto for a change. She really is a sweet ... erm ... "normal" girl I guess, and this ep shows part of that. Excellent. 8/10 vote from me. Must admit I kinda giggled at Makoto embracing her inner "princehood" to try and save the HS girls.
Wish they had done Hibiki equal justice in presentation but there's not helping it, I guess....
