I'm really looking forward to seeing OVA 4. I am just confused where it fits in with continuity...

Like as far as I can tell, OVA 1-4 are 1 universe and TV 1-12 are another?

Just like you said, the universe isn't the same. The TV series is a spin-off while the OAD is an adaption to the manga. The good thing is that both are awesome and hot.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the only overlap that doesn't fit (unless OVA4 reveals another hole, haven't had a chance to see it yet... and no puns!) is the first OVA (OVA0) and the first episode of the series. Other than that, they fit perfectly fine together.

In fact, didn't they say something about going to an Onsen in one of the last episodes of the series? And the magazines that Keita's friend gave him showed up as the primary plot device in the previous OVA, if I recall.

they all fit together just fine imo.( I just didn't know that until I watch them separately lol )

If you watch just the TV version there are parts missing as to why riko and ako say things to each other.

with the other parts I was getting the sense I missed something important.
