All I see is Wangan MIDNIGHT. j/k...

I thought I'd heard of the name before.

So, this is getting animated? Sounds intriguing, especially someone with a sick sense of humor like myself.

There are those that are doubting that pictures originality >.<

There's a page from Kodansha (the publisher of Shounen Magazine) which mentions the anime adaptations of their manga and also future anime adaptations of their manga:

http://shop.kodansha.jp/bc/comics/eizou/

If its really getting animated why isn't Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei mentioned there yet ?

Until more proof gets out, I'm not going to mention this in the New Announced Anime thread.

Solved puzzle from volume 7.

So they're finally animating something by him after his assistant got one. Unless it gets retracted like Kaizou.

Wow thats the biggest anime hint ever

But why did I hear of this now ? Volume 7 of the manga got out on 16/2/2007 ???

It would be great if this gets an anime hopefully some news from the publisher will verify this

It doesn't say anything about Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei on that page, though. Have they taken it down already? (that image you linked to doesn't work for me, either).

Heh, how cute, the whited-out parts of that grid spell "アニメ化 祝" (i.e. Congratulations on anime adaptation).

Although I still don't see it on that page... Never heard of this manga before, but it sounds quite intriguing.

Hmm... could it be that the publisher wants to wait till April to officially announce the anime ?

Volume 8 of the manga is getting out in April, so they might want to officially announce the anime on its cover >.<

Looking forward to it, this mangaka's works are quite good.
Now if only somebody animates Grow Up My Darling...

Akamatsu's blog entry for 4/1 mentions congratulating Kumeta about something. And he complains about how Zetsubou isn't making fun of Negima anymore. So it's obviously a joke. Which leaves the question of whether or not Zetsubou's actually getting animated unanswered.

Is if the series is being animated or not really still a question -- Until I find the larger image I have somewhere --

Right along with Over Drive (just aired today actually Not much talk about it here :/) and Piano no Mori - 07 07
I'm real excited for this - That (fan made probably) image that looks just like a screen cap always made me want to see the series animated even more

OH!! Also I just noticed - Good Job on the list I didn't realize what the series that I just watched on TV last week was - guess I should have watched the credits and not just listen to the music
(It's 7 volumes - and the series was a drama edition)

Zetsubou Sensei is about a suicidal teacher and a class where most of the named characters are female (See Negima).

Characters include an overly optimistic girl, an anal retentive girl, a refugee who bought a Japanese name, a girl who's bandaged up like a domestic violence victim but isn't actually one, a stalker, a hikkikomori, a girl who returns from overseas as a token panty shot schizo, an ordinary girl, a fat ugly girl who photoshopped herself into a net idol, a fangirl who draws yaoi doujin for Gundam Seed and One Piece, a girl who never talks but sends text messages through her cell phone instead, etc.

And it's Kumeta, so whether or not it's really getting animated is questionable until the day after it's aired.

*Looks for scanlations*
