Yeah, for a guy that is supposed to be pissed at Yuto, he was real passive about getting involved.

Next week, we are back to filler.

But Seigen also had that arm, so I assumed it'd be just a normal weapon for exorcists, maybe an unusual one?

man what a great episode, that backstory was way darker than I thought it'd be.

his daugher was right there, unconscious and possibly in danger. He was worried about her safety more so he couldn't fight yuto.

Couldn't he have just opened a gate out of that realm and let Rokuro and Benio take her while he took care of Yuto?

Heck, couldn't he have just sent her back period and let the three of them beat on Yuto? In the amount of time wasted couldn't he have taken her back himself and come back and taken on Yuto before everything was over?

It just felt like an excuse to leave him out of the fight so that Rokuro could get beaten up. There seem to be plenty of ways he could have dealt with the situation and still been able to fight, but instead the writers chose to just have him stand there and do nothing instead.

If this is what fillers will be like, then I want more of this. Pure fun and more 12 guardians introduced. Also enjoy just seeing benio and rokuro interactions.

...I haven't finished the episode yet, but it sure looks like she's just playing shipper rather than helping them train.

After finishing, yeah, I stand by that. Working together is beneficial to them, but isn't going to give them what they need to stand up to Yuto.

With the appearance one of the 12 generals the introduction, development and interaction, it might not be a filler.

Go read the Manga and then come back saying it's not filler. Yes, it was, totally... Surprisingly.

Personally I felt the general in question seemed particularly uninteresting. She seems like a typical anime "unmarried 'older' woman" character. So she killed a bunch of small fry kegare. Meh. At this point that's not going to impress me.

To me the only real note of significance in the episode (given that Rokuro and Benio's relationship progress gets set back to zero, again, by the end of the episode, like always) was the confirmation that Rokuro could no longer control his arm when he summoned it using the black talisman. Whatever happened to it when he summoned it without the talisman in the confrontation with Yuto somehow fundamentally changed it.

Well theory is he was the only "test subject" in the house that day that survived the Kegare experiment, which Yuto used to get his power. My guess is the kegare power took over everyone else and he was able to fight it off.

I don't think the relationship was set back to zero personally, the way Benio sealed his arm and he protected her shortly after shows a slight growth

Except they've both always been like that. No matter what they think, or say they think of each other, they're too heroic to not protect people from kegare, at least when it happens right in front of them.

Indeed. I mean, Rokuro saved Benio in the first episode, when he barely knew her, was pissed off at her attitude, and was still completely traumatized about being an exorcist. Only a couple episodes later Benio immediately sprang to Rokuro's aid when he asked for her help to save the other exorcists in the dorm. It's just who they are.

I may be slightly exaggerating by saying it's back to zero, but the show is using one of those relationship tropes that irritates me. Characters are fighting; oh look something happened throughout an episode to make them understand each other better, now their relationship has improved and they can get along in the future; nope, something happens at the end of the episode and they're right back to fighting exactly the way they were before because heaven forbid anyone change the status quo.

While these two are probably thinking more about each other in a positive light than they once did, the way things keep getting played means it isn't really changing the dynamic of their relationship, because something is always happening to set them back at odds with each other.

Lol, you described this trope that I hate so much. It happens far too much in shows. It's so aggravating.

What is that trope called? Maybe on TVTropes there's an explanation for that sad excuse of plot delay method.
