English isn’t my first language so please forgive me if there any mistake and please help me to correct them

I really hope you guys will enjoy my worthless novel since it is my first time writing a story to satisfy my fantasy (lol) and I will make my novel as short as possible. I don't know why but I like a short novel

So I make a simple cover for my novel, and this is the original one

But someone say it's pretty hard to read and tell me to use outer glow effect, so here is the new one

Chapter 0: Prologue

Spoiler for Chapter 0: Prologue:

“uughh…”

The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was darkness. No, to be more precise it was cloudy night sky that so thick that there was almost no light at all.

The boy who was lying down on a grassland slowly raised his body and look around.

“Where am I… ?”

Of course, no one there to answer him, who was alone in the middle of grassland that was surrounded by trees in the night time.

Then when he was confused, he heard a voice from behind him...

“You…”

When he turned his head around he saw a girl, with blonde hair, green eyes like an emerald, and vanilla like skin.

She looks at the confused boy and while holding her sword that was still in its sheat she gives a look at the boy that tell him to don’t give any unnecessary move.

The boy who was being her target of hostility give her a curious look even when he knows that the girl was holding a sword

“Who are you? and what are you doing here in the middle of the night ?”

When he heard what she say, he tilted his head and said.

“Who am I….”

Chapter 1: Name #1

Spoiler for Chapter 1 part1:

As soon as the boy open his mouth absentmindedly the girl start asking him again and increase her hostility while gripping her sword tightly

“What are you saying ? Tell me Who are you ?!”

The boy who was confused stared the girl without knowing what to say, and the girl who sees that grew more aggressive and open her mouth...

“Oi! Elena!”

Before she can say anything a voice was heard from behind the girl, and 2 man and 1 women came running toward the girl

“Elena are you okay? and who is he ?”

The women with purple hair and indigo eye who was standing behind the girl called Elena in concern and asking when she notices the boy who was standing in front of Elena

A boy who looks like 15-16 years old, with pitch black hair and violet eye standing still with unconcern and observing the other 3 who just came

“Boy, what are you doing in this place ?”

One of the middle-aged men with brown hair and brown eyes with well-developed body ask the boy

‘One man using sword and shield, one girl using a sword, one woman using staff most likely a mage, and one slim man with bow..’

He who was stared by 4 people with weapons just observing them quietly without answering

The girl, Elena, who see the boy won’t answer at all start to showing hostility again and yelled

“Answer it when we asked you or do you want to be cut down!?”

The women put her hand on Elena’s shoulder trying to calm down Elena and look at the Boy

“Please forgive this girl for her bad temper, but boy.. can you tell me why are you here and who are you ?”

“I don’t know…”

She looked surprised for a moment.

“You don’t know? can you remember anything ?”

“No… when I awake, I’m already here”

She looks at the boy with pity and then looks at the brown hair man like she was giving confirmation

“Are you sure Veronica ?”

“Yes, I don’t feel any hostility or malice from him, and he doesn’t look like lying either”

The brown-haired man nodded when he hear what the women, Veronica look at the boy and said

“Well, boy I’m sorry about that but come with us to the village... ah my name is Doug, I’m a guardian and squad leader of the Hazel Village’s Defends team”

“Doug! He is someone suspicious why do you want to take him to the village!”

When Doug finish talking Elena start yelling again and point her finger at the boy

‘It looks like she doesn’t like me’

When he thinks something like that, Doug open his mouth again

“Enough Elena, you know Veronica’s skill”

“But.. !”

“Enough! Now introduce yourself”

Elena glare at the boy and introduce herself

“Elena, a swordsman of Hazel Village”

Veronica, the women who look like a mage chuckled at Elena and said

“I’m sorry about that girl, my name is Veronica and just how I look like, I’m a mage”

Then the slim man with brown hair and brown eyes who look similar to Doug came forward and said

“My name is Shawn, I’m Doug’s little brother, I’m a hunter… Nice to meet you”

Shawn who talk politely toward the boy give a little bow.

The boy who saw that reflectively look at all of them and said

“Nice to meet you… I’m sorry but I don’t remember anything”

“We will talk more when we arrive at the village, it’s already time to return from our patrol. Come, boy, follow us to the village and take some rest, we will talk tomorrow”

Doug who see the Boy give a nod then look at the other 3

“Let’s go back”

And start walking followed by the 4 people

Chapter 1: Name #2

‘Ah, that’s right…’

He opened his eyes and noticing that he was laying on a bed.

He slowly sat up and examined his surrounding. Even though it was a bit dark, he was able to see due to the sunlight that coming from a thing that looks like a window.

The room was pretty small, with wood walls, a plain table and chair, and a bed. It was a very ordinary house

Hearing a footstep, he turned his gaze toward the doorway. Not long after, someone entered the room and their eyes met

“Good morning, it’s good that you awake”

Saying that, as he gazes at the boy.

‘If I remember correctly… he must be Shawn’

“Good morning…”

Hearing the boy say that Shawn give a small smile. At that moment, the boy’s stomach gave a small growling sound

“You must be hungry… Let’s go eat, breakfast is ready”

After saying that, Shawn left the room. And the boy stand up and follow Shawn.

When he went to the room where Shawn is going, he saw 3 figure already seated at the dining table. It was Doug, Shawn, and a middle-aged women

“Morning…”

Upon hearing what the boy said, the three of them smile.

“Morning sleepyhead, hahaha”

Said Doug while laughing, who look different from that night when he uses breastplate and carrying a sword and a shield.

“Enough talking Doug, Good Morning young man… Come take a sit, you must be hungry”

Said the smiling middle-aged women.

She looks like about in her 40s but still looked quite young and beautiful.

“En…”

When he looks at the table, he saw a bunch of vegetables, a gruel-like substance, and some type of meat. It gave off a pleasant smell, and when he smells it, his stomach gave another growling sound. It looks like he hasn’t eaten anything sometimes.

The middle-aged women chuckled when she heard that and said.

“Ufufufu… Please don’t hold yourself back and eat as much as you want”

The boy who heard that start eating when he sees all the family member start eating.

“Thank you for the meal… Let me help you with cleaning the dish”

“Oh my, what a gentleman… Not like someone who just has a big body”

“ugh…”

Doug who heard that let out a small voice but no one paid him any intention. The women look at the boy.

“Ah, I’m Nancy, I’m Doug and Shawn’s mother, nice to meet you”

“Nice to meet you miss Nancy…” (Should I go with Nancy-san or something ? lol)

“I heard it from Doug and Shawn, but do you really can’t remember anything at all? even your name?”

“Yes…”

When Nancy heard that, see look at The Boy with pity.

“Oh, my pitiful boy…”

Nancy then lowering her body so that she can meet the boy’s eyes and smile

“Then how about this… from today forward your name shall be Luke, how about it ?”

“Luke…”

The boy who heard that he was given name, was surprised and muttered

“Oh! That was a good name, don’t you think so Shawn ?”

“Yes, I think so”

Doug who heard the talk between The Boy and Nancy came toward them while asking Shawn.

‘A name huh…’

The Boy thought. He who can’t remember anything was given a name and he can’t help to feel a weird feeling.

“Do you like it ?”

Nancy who give a gentle smile, look at the boy’s eyes.

The Boy, who see that, let out a small smile on his face and said

“Then... Luke shall be my name from today forward”

Hey, good job there. Might be a good idea to get an editor you can trust.

Also, I presume your work would have an 'asian' feel, since if you noticed, this place is called 'anime-suki', meaning that otakus and pervs (like me) haunt this place like flies to dead meat. There are exceptions, of course, but not many.

Hey there! Yeah, I'm thinking about it, because when I'm writing it alone and I'm sure you already notice how horrible my writing is.

I'm heavily inspired by Japanese novels and a few Korean novels and Chinese novels and that's why I decide to post it here because there so many people here who know how Japanese's novels structure and feel more than I do. I'm trying to make it feels like those novels but bring it to medieval-era like feeling (Don't know how to put it to words, sorry)

^ Oh, ur writing ain't bad. But if I were you, I'd not start this thread myself - 'let someone else sing your own praise', as the saying goes. Well, no matter, keep up the good work. You'd find that people here lurks a great deal unless it's a topic really close to their hearts (or absolutely can't stand). Don't mind the criticisms too much - cos nothing really matters on the internet - and you'd do fine. In fact, if they criticize your work, you should be happy, cos it means they're really reading it (which is a universe away from being shelved and forgotten).

I won't presume to give tips to writing a good novel, but I think one ingredient that 'asian' novels never lack is ship-tease, which I can see in your work. Good job... now add some fan-service too and we're all ready for publishing...

Hmm~ if you are inspired by Japanese novels then, maybe you are going for a amnesia caused by transporting to another world~?
If so, then please add some details like, what the surrounding looks like and description of what character looks like if they are beautiful or not~
Also, you might want to make use of some features in your website(I haven't visited it yet) to add colors to texts to signify who is talking whether it's their inner monologue or talking out loud~

While I'am inspired by Japanese novels, I'm trying not to get to heavy influenced by it, and yeah the MC have amnesia but it's not about tranported to another world, but more like your generic fantasy novel
