about war

Quote:
Set in a distant land, Japan is divided into feudal territories, yet conquered by outside countries.

There is a floating city named Musashi that is composed of eight ships in the skies.

The city Musashi that will ignite the flame of battle is being targeted and has no choice but to keep its people safe by entering this war.

With the fate of the world resting on its hands, the students of Musashi may hold the key to victory.
about narrator explanation in the End of eps 1

Quote:
In the far future, humans abandon the devastated Earth and move to the upper world "Tenjo". But Tenjo and the law of causation collapse by a war and humans returns to the Earth, which has turns into an inhabitable planet except for Shinshu area.

Shinshu is too small to accommodate all the humans, so they duplicate the area and create "Juso Sekai" in a parallel world. In order to rebuild Tenjo and the law of causation, the returned humans start reproduction of the history from B.C. 10,000. When the reproduction proceeds to A.D. 1413, a war breaks out in Shinshu and Juso Sekai falls onto the original world.

The humans living in Juso Sekai lose their land and invade the original world. People in Shinshu surrender and the land is divided by the invaders from Juso Sekai. They try to resume the history reproduction from A.D.1457, but the update of the history terminates in A.D.1648. A rumor of apocalypse begins to spread the world.

Episode 0 - at least, that's what it felt like.

Think I need to watch it again - though I must admit, Aoi Toori openly groping his teacher's breasts was comedy gold. Just wish it wasn't censored...

Ok so ancient history aside, going back to the present, they're students with powers and they need to do... what exactly? Kill off everyone in other nations?

Plot looks to be kinda like something from medieval times actually, people fighting it out to conquer land with some extra elements mixed in like women with airbags instead of a chest, magic, fanservice, FukuJun trying to go against the world yet again, fanservice, dystopia? and oh did I mention fanservice?

Fanservice? Breasts? You don't say, I was thinking that was some kind of advanced parachute system; you know right one is main, left one is the reserve.

Seriously though, people said this was "serious," so I'm giving it some leaway, but it sure is trying mighty hard to prove that statement wrong. And lets face it those 18 volumes could have just been fanservice for what it's worth... it's not like people haven't done more jawdrapponing mind blowing unreasonable things:

Jump to 44:00 for the more direct analogy.

18? Make it 3.

The first and second volume have 2 books. The third one has 3.
I don't know about the "serious" part, but as far as I read, it's about the setting that's fascinating.
And Aoi Toori.

speaking of which, I'm surprised nobody has posted these yet...

Spoiler for bodysuit oppai:

as for my thoughts about the episode, I only need to quote this:

“Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere” tries really hard to make you understand what exactly “in the middle of nowhere” means as its setting is just a confusing mess at this point which is hard to grasp since it’s all dumped on the audience in the last few minutes. The rest of the episode tries to do the whole exposition-thingy but it’s hard to understand why and how these character are supposed to matter. At least it’s nice to know that the title of the show was chosen as an ironic remark…
yeah, not the best of first impressions...
(but let's give this the benefit of doubt for another 2-3 eps...)

Sunrise, eh? Needlessly convoluted setting, and an ass-ton of unnecessary techno-bubble to justify gainaxing boobs and a butt-load of money spent on CG... when has this happened before

PS: Not that I complain, at least it has appropriate female outfits

=> not the kind of "fanservice" I can enjoy, but oh well... to each his own, I guess.
I did make an avatar of that, but my connection has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth lately

But it's not your kind of fanservice? Whatever could that mean....

Okay. I got it. The destructive drawback about bodysuit fanservice:

NO PANTSU

Bloody hell Chaos you better not laugh WHY DID I JUST REALIZE THIS in exchange for my desire to see girls in bodysuits, I must sacrifice the pantsu, the panchira, the beautiful shimapan that encompasses the lower body of a girl! WHYYYYYY
