Since I rate these as "fillers" and not standard Naruto episodes, I gave this a 5! I think this is the best filler ever created and it really made me happy. This episode was equal to that of a standard Naruto episode, pherhaps a little better too. Good animation, good story, good characters, nice fights and one excellent ending!

The next episode looks good too, I'm kinda looking forward to it!

damn...no Naruto for 2 weeks, no Bleach for a week...I need my anime fix...*eyes some other series*

though the Gaara one coming up shows promise.

I didn't really care for this episode...I didn't show any interest till after Menma sacraficed himself.

Well, I would have given it a 2, but the ending has moved me a tiny bit to give it a 3. The episode itself is boring. Neji isn't reserved enough, TenTen is too talkative, Naruto is dumb as a mule (more so than usual), the poor villain is a fashion victim (probably snuck a peek in Oro-sama's wardrobe), and the supposedly village leader is actually a village idiot. The only well composed, and hawt character just happens to be a guy. Yet, I still agree that this is indeed one of the better filler from the total of 9-10 episodes I have watched in this filler saga which speaks volume about the overall quality of Naruto fillers, and it's all thanks to you.

P.S. I wonder if anyone has picked up the feel good BGM from Ai Yori Aoshi when Naruto and the bishounen was building up a fence.

Wow... that really came out of left field. That felt like watching REAL Naruto again. Its been a while. And how long has it been since we heard the sad Naruto music? Whats it called... sadness and sorrow I think. I always loved that song, and I was starting to think it wasn't licensed for the fillers

Memma didnt have to die lol

The times Naruto uses Kage Bunshin is useless, and the time when he doesnt use it becomes handy. Y not use kage bunshin to make the wall? and y not use kage bunshin to detonate the mine?

Despite that, its still pretty good to watch, hearing that music in the end

Because he was pushed of the edge, and it wouldn't be such a touchy ending

Agreed. The mini-filler arc started with a solid introduction, it got a downhill with all the touring that Naruto gave to Menma in the interlude, the pacing in this episode was unnecessary to call on the extensive dialogue, nonetheless, ends followed from a dramatic climax.

It's been a long while since I was witness to the significant loss of a character in the Naruto universe that is both meaningful and poignant to the main lead, Naruto.

The Sadness and Sorrow Naruto theme was the perfect touch for Menma's last welfare to Naruto.

Since the fillers are coming to an end, I think the animation staff is investing a considerable amount of budget in both animation and scriptwriting; this filler, in spite of its setbacks, was good Naruto quality.

And cheer for more because the next mini-filler features the Sunagakure siblings; the return of Gaara, now in Naruto fillers before the start of Part two due out in February.

I really loved this episode! Memna reminded me of my Zelda Days- Heck this filler was better then [148?] the one with Hinata, Naruto, Shino & Kiba looking for the bug. Woot for the good ending too, if the creators can keep up these kinds of fillers I got no problem waiting for the time skip.

Have we ever seen Naruto use that type of exploding note?

Any at all even? (I'm asking this seriously, not sarcastically. I don't remember ever seeing him use one, but I might be wrong)

Maybe Naruto does not know how?

I think Naruto use some when fighting Gaara in the "1000 years of pain" jutsu thing.

OMG, that was what i was thinking..., so stupid..

Naruto seems to only use his replications for useless stuff, such as being cannon fodder, but he never uses it for anything important, wtfbbq?

Didn't Naruto also use an exlosive note to ignite Gamabunt's toad oil in one of the fillers? If i am not mistaken he used it beacuse he didn't kno any fire jutsus.

>_> lol, I voted 5 I just watched it. =( Made me tear up a little, lol yea I'm a sap. None the less I have no real complains about this filler just sucks he had to die like that. . . the soft music was good it brought back some memories.

On a side note the preview seems promising, o_O; a Sand Shinobi Arc filler? Hmm... it could only go two way's either it will kick ass, or it will seriously bomb.
