My biggest hope for this movie, even though it's not likely at all? A possible little teaser at the end of the movie suggesting an appearance in the Avengers, even though it's next to impossible because Marvel sold rights to movie studios in the 90s...

New clip (best viewed with IE, it seems)
Looks like...regardless of which storyline/universe/interpretation Peter Parker belongs to, he just can't live without antagonizing his school's jocks. Well, some things never change...

The film was publicised to be a more darker, serious and reality-based than Raimi's versions in local media. So it will be something akin to Nolan's Batman Begins, which might make it worth the ticket pricing.
Who knows, this might actually continue the trend Nolan started with Batman Begins if it prove to be successful and we might see more gritty Superheroes instead in the face of Marvel's more comical take. |

I just saw the movie and i find it quite underwhelming. There was nothing surprising or something big that we haven't seen before.
Odd thing is that they have disincluded a scene from the trailer in theatrical version in which the lizard said to spiderman about something like "do you want the truth, peter. Then come and get it". Spoiler for spoiler:
More complaints Spoiler for spoiler:
While i don't think this movie was that bad, i don't think it was that good. After watching this movie, i even believe that this reboot was not needed at all. Last edited by hyl; 2012-06-28 at 09:52. |

No post credits scene, so don't bother sticking around. There is however a scene past the initial credits round, so stick around for a minute or so.
As to the movie, on its own it is pretty good, but I felt like the Sam Raimi version was more entertaining as a whole. Not that the movie didn't have its share of amusing moments, and when they deliver a gut-busting scene, they so do awesomely (that bit with Stan Lee was GENIUS). However, the Sam Raimi version had a more believable romance that didn't make me cringe, and unfortunately the relationship between Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker here took focus for too long and was generally too awkward, and as hyl above complains, the relationship seemed to come out of nowhere. On the flipside though, if you remove said scenes, then I feel like I could rate The Amazing Spiderman better than the Sam Raimi version, since imho it does a whole lot of other things about Spiderman right, including Ben's death and the motive behind Peter Parker turning into Spiderman. Spoiler for Heartwarming F-yeah scene:

This movie tries to focus more on Peter Parker and Curtis Conners and their problems that that led them to become what they are, but the problem is that the other characters feels more shallow.
I get the impression that the Peter in this movie seemed to be less of a nerd but more a social awkward person because of his past experiences , probably so that the audience can easier identify with him. I agree that the Stan Lee cameo at the school's library was funnier than the last few cameo's that he has made in other movies. The main problem is that this movie, while different, is at it's core too similar to the Raimi version from 1 decade ago. |

saw the movie, it suprised me ,it was better than i thought it would be,
they din't concentrate on the whole public shouting 'spiderman spiderman' thing and the spiderman publicity in the film, but rather concentrated more on the story and plot, And finally for once, the villan actually had some real motives and intentions and wasn't just after spiderman just because he is a vigilante, thank God they din't show the Lizard taking Gwen as hostage, that was the thing i liked in the movie the action was also good, never saw the spiderman so much beat up and covered in blood, that was something new the effects and photography was very nice, also nice to see Gwen Stacey this time, it was getting to much Mary Jane Watson
