I just want to say that chapter's cover is... pretty amazing.

It would be hard to imagine Rikuo not getting some if they all survive this.

I guess it was because Tank sales were gradually falling. Still, I think they should have waited to see how well the Gokadoin arc would have sold.

I agree tough it is weird that it wasn't moved to SQ. Now that Ao no Exorcist has become popular, SQ has a lot of readers who like youkai and demons, perfect audience for Nura.

On other hand, Hiroshi isn't trying to even end the HM side of the story and neither is he ignoring them (mind you that he would have known about cancellation weeks and gotten warnings months before). There is a chance that he wants to end the Seimei side of the story and Rikuo's story and start a fresh sequel of spin-off in SQ. Getting a daughter is good enough reason to want to be moved to SQ, not to mention that its audience would be more fitting.
That's why I have transferred from reading mangas to light novels. The plot's much better, and what's more, they are rarely, if ever, cancelled.More than that, no censors, yay!

They also make fraction of the money popular manga gets, making it not a lucrative business if you have enough talent to get a chance in the biggest magazine in Japan, WSJ. Pretty much any writers would take up a chance to work for WSJ if given. The opportunity there is massive, if you get a big break.

So do light novel writers--if they are popular. What we are talking about is the plot. Light novel writers, generally without pressure, are able to write better stories. What's more, you don't feel they are over extended if they are popular.

Thankfully, the LN translation scene is now stronger than it was few years ago. I still remember the dark times when even the popular LN's were translated so slowly that following them was painful...

To return to topic, first two light novels have been translated. Anyone here read them?

Wait, are you suggesting Rikuo x Hagoromo Kitsune here?
That would be awkward..... and delicious.

I disagree. Vast majority of Light novel writings are absolute pile of turd.
I haven't smelled a bigger pile of writing turd in my entire life time than the current so-called "light novel" market.

But hey, opinions.
Spoiler for long LN rage:

PS: BTW, getting a hit in WSJ does give you much more fortune than you can ever hope for as a LN writer. I don't think you understand the market difference in Japanese publishing world. It's not even comparable. Like, off by two digits or more.

Poorly written? I don't want to here that from someone who prefers shounen mangas(no insult). The typical structure of a shounen manga is:meet a strong enemy?Gets beaten down. Solution? RANDOM POWER-UP. Power-up not available or the enemy is simply just way too strong? POWER OF NAKAMA! Normally, power of friendship is alright, it just means winning through superior team cohesion and tactics. But the term POWER OF NAKAMA has been reinvented as some random, unexplained power-up of the protagonist because of his feelings for his friends.I just don't want to hear about a supposed general plot-superiority of mangas compared to light novels. If the plot of LN are manure, I don't even know what to call the plot of some of the popular shounen mangas out there. As for eroge-type writing, maybe it's because you don't like them. Many people do enjoy them. It's there to appease some people. Evidently, there's a reason why even a light-novel with no plot(fingers point at Infinite Stratos) can get popular.

Eh, I've been reading Japanese novels and manga since the early 80s, and playing eroge since the dawn of the genre. I'm pretty sure I've known the market and its content since before you were born, you don't have to explain me anything.
I enjoy eroge fine. But even then, it's 90% utter crap, and many of those reponsible for crap moved on to LN market bringing their terrible pile of manure with them.

And yes my criticism still stands.
Shounen manga are written for children, but even considering the demographic simpleness of its plot, it's miles better than the utter turd that is LN market today.

Also, you seem to be mistaking definition of shounen manga as a genre, instead of a demographic.
