According to Chinese site qq The King of Fighters anime is in the works and will be on the air on the first quarter of 2016. no other information was given on the exact date or the studio working on the project. (If anyone would like to translate that would be helpful) There is also an live action series is in the works as well.

I would like Production I.G since they have done in the past.

I think the anime would be based on KOFIV or an original story altogether.

I'm not sure about it. KOF's first entries had about 24 characters. How are they gonna receive enough screentime?

It would be best to focus on the Kyo/Iori rivalry and make the other characters secondary.

KoF early story was great and you can make a kickass anime out of it. After the Orochi saga it went downhill for me.

It will air in Japan and get a Japanese dub, of course it does. Don't forget that most anime today get outsourced to animation studios in other countries like Korea.

Lol, I remember reading the kof 2003 manhua years ago and it was ridiculous. K Dash had more stamina than Gintoki Sakata and fought Rugal's child and Mukai without even resting.

Hope the screenplay is given to a good guy

You think that was ridiculous? You should read kof99 manhua then. In KoF99 manhua, K dash killed all KoF characters(except Kyo and Iori) under Krizalid's command, later he revived them and invited those KoF characters(except Kyo and Iori) to join KoF tournament so K dash and Krizalid can kill them again. Then in the flashback, we learned that Kyo disintegrated Iori and Iori's hatred became ghost of vengeance and went to defeat all KoF characters again only to be killed by real Iori or Kyo (i can't remember the part very well). And suddenly Iori had the power to wiped out many cities just by activating his power "Destruction". Krizalid wasnt amused and whooped Kyo and Iori with his "Thousand Year Life Force" power and ended up killing himself in the process because his body can't control and contain it. The End

My reaction after reading it is wtf i just read?

Also the comic also changed a lot of characters personality. They made Ryo an egotistic character who has the tendency to beat people who named their attacks/techniques after a "dragon" and Yamazaki is actually a calculative and calm person instead of raging psycho in kof 97 manhua and more.

I remember mostly HK comics (or Chinese, cant remember) where it went full on fanfiction with shounen manga style of power escalation. It made me miss KoF Kyo, that was more "down-to-earth". That was back in 1999-2000 when the Orochi Saga was still fresh in people's minds because people didnt expect THAT from a fighting game, and NESTS Saga had yet to win hearts.
