Just finished the episode. My mind was blown when Ayase wanted to exchange phone numbers before they even introduced themselves. I'll chalk that up as a Japanese thing, but still. My mind, blown. The plain chick is still the only one for Our Hero, but still. My mind, blown.
Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this thought. During one of the Comiket scenes Kirino is being all kinds of enthusiastic, and then she looks at her brother and starts acting like a tsundere. She denied it right from the start, but . . . she couldn't possibly be acting that way to . . . naaaah . . . . . . I mean, yea, sure, she's even making him play all these games with the theme in it, so of course his mind is going to be more open to the idea than most after a few dozen titles forced on him, but still . . . . . . . naaaaaaaaah . . . . . . . >_> Quote:
For this, you could say he mind and body froze in sheer horror at the present situation. |

Ah the staple accidental tripping resulting in an accidental panty-shot and/or groping ecchi scene. I was hoping this series could last it's full run without it seeing as it refrained from doing so in the first 3 episodes, but I s'pose that's too much to hope for. >>;
Aside from that, they're right about some people being very different in-person than they are online. I can vouch for this because I am one of these people. Finally, I love this series' accuracy towards how it represents those with anime and manga as a hobby, it's phenomenal and I can't help but have a big grin on my face at those times. =) I wonder if Kuroneko plays Street Fighter. =p

In real Japan I can't imagine siblings would behave like that at that age, the sister having that personality, them being in that kind of situation (hearing the friend's footsteps and still...). Same goes for Japan in animes, because realism within the respective universe should be still there to a certain degree. Though if you simply go for the animes in Japan in general, it probably happens for the sole purpose of a fanservice scene and a classic misunderstanding. Also, stupidity if you want to look for a reason from the char's POV.

I really liked their Comiket antics. Kuroneko and Kirino are really good friends after all and Kyousuke and Saori enjoying a laugh together made me laugh as well. I didn't really expect Kuroneko to be the one to win the game for Kirino though but I guess that made sense seeing how we saw that Saori was better than both Kyousuke and Kirino and we had no idea about her skills.
I also didn't really expect Kyousuke to become friends with Saori so easily but it was nice to see. Edit: I just noticed but that was the maid from the cafe in ep 2 giving Kyousuke a doujin right?

I was referring to the real Japan, in general. I wasn't taking their personalities or anything else into consideration. |

and also it seems kids that age just like having a large network of people on their phone for some reason.

Another awesome episode. Loved everything about it... the sibling grouping, the exchanging numbers with little sister's friend, Kuroneko taking her coat off thanks to Kirino, Kuroneko winning limited edition game and giving it to Kirino, them two then not being honest with they feelings and little sister's friend finding out her secret hobby therefore causing cliffhanger for next episode. Its all so great... can't wait for next week.
Edit: Oh yeah and yay for Manami being in the opening.

It surprises me on how Ore no Imouto may have a rather unrealistic premise-- 12 yr. old sister enjoying anime and eroge-- yet the situations they're in and their surroundings and daily events are about the most realistic I've seen so far in an anime. This isn't including the historical dramas and action animes with realistic firearms and weaponry, but it feels... normal... just watching Kyou and Kirino. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. As for the episode, a definite 10/10 for me (feeling up his sister notwithstanding...), but a really good episode. |

I've been enjoying the series so far, but this talk of how it goes on to become bro-con fluff takes some of the joy away. I like when the show hints at the possibility, but I was really hoping for more solid storytelling that gives me something to think about. The first three episodes blew me away with how they examine Japanese society's views on otaku, and also I wanted the story of Kirino's self-acceptance to continue. This episode makes me think the show is going to fall into line with standard ecchi-harem shows, which is fine, but I still think it's wasted potential.

Aside from the accidentally scene grabbing Kirino, which even if I found the whole scene from the package got their to the end hilarious was still a bit cliche, though if caused Ayase to talk to him, then it might be acceptable . The Comiket scenes were amusing and Kuroneko is quite skilled it seems at games which surprised me a bit, and her actually wearing cat ears was cute XD. Kirino and Kuroneko apparently both act tsundere towards each other , I laughed so bad when Kirino said "Be Grateful." when she accepted the CD. And wow, bit of cliffhanger ending there, and I do believe I already stated my love of ED else where .
