Selector Spread WIXOSS
Source: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...d-wixoss-anime Information: The anime selector spread WIXOSS revolves around the hugely popular card game WIXOSS. Supposedly there are special cards called LRIG cards that only certain girls called selectors are able to use. These selectors use the LRIG cards to have battles in another dimension that cannot be accessed by other humans. The winner of these card battles will have their wish granted. Takuya Satō (Steins;Gate, Say "I love you".) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Mari Okada (Anohana, Hanasaku Iroha,) is charge of the series scripts, based on an original story by LRIG (Warner Entertainment Japan, Takara Tomy, J.C. Staff). Kyuta Sakai (When They Cry - Higurashi, Steins;Gate) is designing the characters, and Yoshikazu Iwanami is directing the sound. Kentaro Akiyama (Studio Pablo) is the art director, and Yukiko Itou is the color key artist. Kanon Wakashima returns from season 1 to perform the opening theme song, “world’s end, girl’s rondo.” Here is a page with more about the series: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...e.php?id=16138 As per season 1, Funimation will also be streaming this series to US audiences. CR will stream it to several other countries, though. Here is the link to the forum thread for Season One of this series: Selector Infected WIXOSS: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=124340 **** Ep 01 Well, I guess we'll see be seeing a lot more of this girl compared to season 1. Let the battles begin! Poor Ruko though. I know she misses Tama but I miss her as well. Hopefully she returns soon.

Personally, to me, this first episode wasn't great. I guess it was meant to refresh everyone's memory of where we stand, but honestly, as a result it was boring at best, grating at worst (the latter being every scene with that little girl. Sheesh. It was cute at first, but it got old quick... She's best in small doses, it seems).
Lots of recycled animation, lots of recapping, nothing really new. I guess it works as a re-introduction to the Wixoss universe or to set the mood. Can't wait until the plot starts moving again.

1st episode standard refresher episode for 2nd seasons. So not going to knock it for that since its expected. Going to need to see till episode 2 and 3 to see where they want to take this.
Hope it doesn't take till episode 8+ again to go full despair.

Yeah, pretty much a standard recap episode for the most part. Probably a penalty of split-cour shows that you need to recap some.
I'll admit the little girl was a bit grating, but I was thinking "Yeah, you may be cheerful now, but just wait until you fall into DESPAIR! Bwahahaha!" |

I lol'd when Chiyori was completely unfazed upon hearing the truth, though both her voice and Eldora's are a bit much. I think Eldora is lucky Chiyori's wish is to become an LRIG. If Chiyori wins, she automatically gets her wish, so Eldora doesn't have to do a thing. Unless she has to become an LRIG once she's Chidora.
But yeah, I hope Iona convinces Ruu to battle soon. |

It is heavily hinted in the opening that "Ruko" is a LRIG. I'm interested in seeing the new selector and her LRIG Anne. It may seem she is interested in something else other than the wishes.
"Ruko" maybe a fuse of Ruko and her LRIG. LRIG Ruko may appear in that next card booster, Beginning Selector. I wonder how would she react upon finding the truth about herself. |

I hope the plot picks up in the 2nd episode. Like Cleo1, I hope Iona convinces Ruu to battle soon. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Iona is like as a battling LRIG.

I'm not expecting anything too dramatic right off the bat, so the refresher episode wasn't as bad as I was reading. A bit dull in some parts, but there's also some new material, including some heavy foreshadowing....again. It's way too early to predict things, but I am a bit concerned that we have a whole bunch of new characters in addition to the entire previous cast.
I think Wixoss's first season did a great job of laying the groundwork for this season.....but will it follow through? We shall see..... Also, Chiyori and Eldora are great comic relief, but I'm hoping they balance them out somehow. I still think there's more to them than future despair. They're just so out of place, not to mention their uncanny resemblance.

Ruko can't let go of Tama, so she might have to card battle again to get Tama back I suppose.
But, maybe winning in a condition that Ruko is not aware of as of now. It is still unknown that whether winning or losing can grant wishes in a way that Selecter exactly want. It is already proven that LRIG will take over the Selector's body after getting "her wish" granted and the Selector will turn into LRIG after. Even so, these cases are only comprehensible for young females? Just what is this situation? Why there are not any experts other than these school girls whose are just aimlessly searching for clues that they themselves do not really understand? |

Um, I know that it'll be rejected but this thread needs to merge along with Selector Infected WIXOSS as it feels like the second half of it.
On the other hand, Chiyori is unfazed to what Ruko and the others have gone through hell and back on Eps. 11 and 12. |

I find Chiyori and Eldora to be quite refreshing in this anime of despair-ridden teenage girls (not that I don't enjoy the latter ). Sure she's somewhat of a twisted yet innocent character but someone so continuously upbeat in this series is such a breath of fresh air. Why did I not recognize Satomi Arai earlier, though. I swear, there isn't a single anime I've seen where her voice does not provide a healthy dose of laughter for me.
