From the sound of it, the chapter you're talking about sounds to be one of the best.. you know with the word cute being used and all - but it would be a lil' daft landing back in winter for the end.. maybe it'll work without winter?

Well, it wasn't really long enough to justify being animated anyways... but then again, neither was the caffè latte chapter. ^^; But, it has to be in the middle for this particular chapter to work, since it involves:
Spoiler:

I guess the chapter really isn't anything special, but I find it absolutely adorable. ^^;

Sorry for double post, but i didn't feel it was right to edit the post above me.

I just gotta say - episode 04 was so heartwarming! ^___________^

This episode was so simple, yet so amazing to watch - times like these i'm happy my Father's a postman.. ^^;;

& the cute-ness of Akari just keeps getting better & better.. what with:

She's wonderful! >.<

You've got that right! At first I was thinking "how can they make a whole episode about delivering the mail", but that was just really, really well done. Incredibly touching and I'd even say with a message relevant to today's world. I really like this series a lot. (Still sort of puzzling over whether I should even attempt to build the papercraft that came with DVD 4 of the first season... )

Haha - okay, I'll do it in a bit. I guess I'd better post it in the original series thread, though, since it's for season one. Speaking of merchandise, I'm looking forward to the OST coming out in a few weeks (May 24th). And it looks like the last disc of the first season will come with 3 episodes instead of 2, so DVDs for this second season will start in late-July. Here's to hoping for two more nice artboxes!

Ep4 was wonderful, but I noticed a little continuity error at 05.09...

2nd season has animated a few manga chapters that i quite liked but i guess the manga is simply unmatched.

anime op/ed/ost + manga = ultimate pleasure : >

i was particularly unhappy with the original material of ep 4. while it's far from horrible, it doesn't fit the aria vibe very well. while i dont think the postman chapter could be a standalone episode, it was best to leave it out to animate better manga chapters :/

Episode 4 was truly awesome. Taking the postman chapter from the manga, along with something from a 1998 Kozue Amano short story, it completely captured the feel of both stories combined into one episode. Junichi Sato is a true genius.

Oh, is that where it came from?

I've been meaning to pick up the collected short story volumes...

You pretty much explained how awesome episode 04 was - i don't think i need to hope, but i can see the rest of the series being the same, just like the whole of first season was. <3

Yep. The characters from the 2nd part of episode 4 was from this manga volume:

http://ariacompany.net/books.html -> 天野こずえ短編集2【空の謳】Story was a little different, since it had Sora sending a letter off to a girl he liked but never had the chance to confess to her, and also the "sensei" was actually a magical post-woman with a nifty Sunflower as a broomstick to fly around and deliver letters in.

I bought it in Taiwan and it was a very enjoyable read. It was nice seeing Kozue Amano's evolution of his artstyle.

Speaking about the items on the official site - would anybody know of a website that i could preorder the Aria company building model - i can tell it won't be out for a while.

Knowing my luck there won't be anywhere. ;_;

Episode 6 was far by the best story of either both series in my humble opinion.

Spoiler for Episode 6:

It was a shock to see two stories from the translated manga in episode 05 - but imo they're both two amazing stories that go well together.

For starters - who would have thought just seeing the train under the Sakura tree could bring a few tear to my eyes.. heartwarming over-load! >____<
