To overtake her territory that had been taken by another will be hard to do by herself, but she gotten the loyalty of Dousan and his soldiers to help her. War is always about deception and opportunity. It is grim, but that how it always been.
Saved?? Wow, I wouldn't have expected that. So, the Viper lives on.

This series keeps getting better and better.
I'm looking forward to the Battle of Okehazama.

By the way, the Viper and Sagara are pretty "similar", huh?

Really did thought Dousan was gonna die when he delieved his daughter to Oda but Sagara steps in to save him. Unless he got it from the "Game", he sure located Dousan very fast...
But the one who shined the most in this episode:

Freebies of course.
Hahaha, Goemon is the best!

Already history has been changing, with Okehazama (1560) happening almost directly after the supposed death of Dousan (1556). Keep in mind that Oda Nobukatsu (our world's Oda Nobuyuki) was defeated and killed in 1557~1558.

There hasn't been a series with this great a mix of comedy, action, drama, romance, and superb production values in the longest of times. Awesome, awesome show.

Great episode with another bastard cool looking guy that looks down on the others -_- I don't like him one bit.

Saru's moves might be courageous but a bit dumb too. He didn't plan it out or use strategy to survive thus his servants ended up dying. Escaping in the river might be the fastest but they are easily targeted without any form of protection.

I wish Saru will learn to form strategy outside his game experience. Strategy on actual battle is necessary.

Good developments for Nobuna and Saru. I also like Nobuna's trusted guards they are all so lovely.

Will this series have Yasuke, the "Black Samurai"?
He was a young African slave brought to Japan by an Italian evangelist, and Nobunaga took him in as a servant and supposedly granted him a warrior status.

I don't know if the novel has got to that point, but I wonder if he'll be genderswapped.

Indeed, last episode has some of the most epic as well as silly moments this week

But whether ones likes or dislikes the content of the anime, I believe that everyone will agree that it looks damn awesome, character designs, backgrounds, stills... excellent

Hands down, this is the best sleeper anime of the season. While Sword Art Online is taking most of the thunder, this one continues to both surprise and entertain despite it's rather simplistic idea - or is it because of it? I look forward to watching this anime more than ohers in a long time.

It's doing nothing so different that other stories/authors haven't done before but 'Oda Nobuna' is doing it so well, it feels like a breath of fresh air to the genre. Helps that the colors are so vibrant and the animation is at an above-par level too. The scenery porn is gorgeous and the characters don't stand out from the background, they are very much immersed in it, even during high speed motion sequences and the battle scenes.

Of course, the characters aren't just great - they are SUPERB. I dare say that Oda Nobuna is the best character of the Fall season. But that's a very biased opinion so take it as you wish. Even the 2ndarys are great with how straightforward they play their roles and stick to them. In this episode, the sight of them standing alongside Sagaru in a show of determination to keep Nagamasa from forcing his hand to marry Nobuna was great.

I was going to give Sagaru -neg points for his reactions to Nagamasa wannabe trolling of his feelings for Nobuna but I have to remember, he's only a kid himself. He showed guts for taking on the extraction mission on his own but in the end he got bailed out by an obviously worried warlord. He's still got a lot to learn but at least his heart is definitely in the right place - I'll continue to cheer him on with Nobu-tan.

Yasuke appears twenty years after the current events if we follow RL time scale. As for the novel, I'll answer that in the other thread.

This series continues to surprise. As a latecomer, I've only seen the first 10 minutes so far, but that includes a puzzling scene with Imagawa and Tokugawa playing soccer. Finally figured out it's referring to an ancient ball game called "kemari" (also cheekily referred to as "pokemari" in a Pokemon/Nobunaga's Ambition spinoff).

History is sometime strange isn't it. If you read some background on the characters, then you already know the death flag has already appear. Other than that, Saitō Dōsan was suppose to die in that episode at the hands of his own son. So far history has changed drastically, which is a major theme in this series. So the death flag that have been raised is gradually disappearing.

Oh and I already posted the link for a request to get the Light Novel to get translated so people can watch the anime and read the Light Novel for twice the enjoyment. http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/vie...152690#p152690 Every vote is helpful, well only if you picked yes.

It would be interesting if Yoshiharu/Saru gave Nobuna a few ideas for military innovations from the future- he obviously wouldn't be able to make a modern rifle or anything, but if you think about it, even the invention of the bayonet changed warfare dramatically- no need for pikemen. Also, not to mention the simple idea of giving a tanegashima musket a second barrel would allow for the great advantage of the allowing for multiple shots before reloading

Taking it a step further, it would likely be possible to develop some sort of crude revolver using a matchlock mechanism, most likely with a six-barreled pepperbox design, either in pistol, musket, or cannon form (large version similar in appearance to a Gatling gun- not as fast firing, but still very rapid for the time.

Another idea would be a "volley gun", basically a row of musket or light cannon barrels mounted on a cart (designs exist in the notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci). One version that was actually designed much later in the 19th century during the Texas War of Independence (at least according to the History Channel) would actually be quite easy to make in feudal Japan. It worked by arranging 20 or so loaded muskets in a row, and removing the mechanism and placing a trough filled with gunpowder on top of the holes in the barrel originally designed for the firing mechanism. When the trough of powder was lit, the powder burn rapidly, setting off all the guns in a rapid, machine gun-like volley of fire. It is possible that this design could even be stacked, so that instead of 20 barrels in one row, there would be 60 barrels in three rows, though each row of barrels would need its own trough of powder unless it were possible to drill a hole in the bottom of each barrel, so the ignition of the top barrel would (in theory) fire the other two.

If you were raw light novel reader, you would probably realize that this cour has A LOT of good light novels being adapted (Hagure, Campione, Dakara, SAO, Oda). Of that group only Oda has been properly and faithfully adapted. It's the only adaptation where I can say reading the novel and viewing the anime is similar.

I wonder if Saru will pick up the sword for Nobuna's sake. Not necessarily be a force but at least be able to defend himself so she doesn't have to worry too much.

And the all the people she loves end up dying thing... potential red flag for Saru?

This I also think that Saru should use his knowledge to advance the military equipment but I think he is a game otaku right? his favorite type of game is sengoku era.

Is their a chances that he might know how to develop fire arms? or simple grenade type. His a strategist of this story right? then I wish for him to be more innovative than just sticking on his game knowledge.
