Yes but western cartoons don't use the nose picking as a sexual reference.

Well, that second half was amazing, just for the shift in style and tone. I'm hoping they do more experimental stuff like that.

Eh even so I already knew it wasn't what they were trying to imply with those "supposedly suggestive" images.

I'm usually pretty quick to pick up on misleading jokes like that. =)

If that were to happen, they might as well cancel the rest of the season for all the other series. Nothing could top that... ^_^

My guess is the "plot" is about as serious or weighty as the rest of the series.

Episode 5 was certainly interesting, part 1 was interesting for it's clever use of nosepicking and symbolism, also "Kyon" played a part, I have a hard time telling most Male Seiyuu apart, but his is voice I can always recognize. part 2 was interesting for it's design shift, while at first it seemed kind of boring it slowly built in enjoyment until the end. Though I am kind of confused why the officewoman was so upset over the turtle.

Pay closer attention, and you'll notice there is a developing plot. watch the first episode again. if you've been counting, you'd notice they filled the first coin box in episode 3. the last few eps didn't give us numbers, but it's pretty obvious that they're about to go back soon. Also in one of the Newtype interviews, Imashi gave a description of heaven, so it's definitely gonna be part of the plot.

Very nice ep, first and second part. I love panty and stockings seiyu's, they fit so well.

Was I watching the same show during the second half? That was unexpected cause nothing about the second half has anything in common with anything we've seen in the past four and a half episodes. Except for the ghost of course.

Gainax are all about taking risks, so i'm glad this happened. Just hope it doesn't happen that much in the show, so it doesn't grow old fast.
