Mine would be melee as well. I've got a amateur-made practice weapon thats a few kg, enough to crush a zombie skull with one swing, plus a bunch of heavy sticks too.

Thank goodness there's a sports outlet right by campus. Like 1/3 of that store is dedicated to hunting equipment... not even sure if you can call it a sports store; it's more like a mini-armory...

Guess I better learn how to handle a rifle. Already got kendo and fencing but can't pull off anything the level of Saeko.

The problem with melee weapons is that it either has to be a blade or a blunt both of which have problems. Blades can dull very fast ( longer blades eg sword) or take you too close (knives/icepick etc). blunts rely on brute strength, which needs weight, which can unbalance you should you misjudge a swing or at least be too slow a weapon against a horde. Imo like in L4D, melee should be used either for stealth kills or a last resort should your main weapon be unusable for whatever reason.

Though on the other hand considering the chances you'll ever (legally) get your hands on a gun, better start practicing those swings xD

On another note something I've always been wondering about: since zombies are technically blind, how do they know the difference between a door and a wall? they just home in on doors, it's pretty cheap D:

the answer is:
they just shambles and ramming through what ever get in their way, and door is more vulnerable than a wall, produces louder sound than wall and attract more fellow zombies to ram it down to get through

You know, Human considered as the most dangerous being on this planet surface. It not for no reason, since human already a weapon since born.
With Training from early age, a human can killed almost all living thing it can see...bare handed.
Some of prisoner here got "Chimera" as his nickname, since he brutally murdered an angered bull who kill his child (caused by red clothes) ...along with it's owner with his fist only....amazed?, well...wait till you meet Viper...or watch a Thailand performer in his trance to shake even 10 bulky army who hold him down.
