Metal is good in small doses for me, personally I find it overrated. Screaming incomprehensible garble is definitely not my thing, as I find myself "wtf are they saying" when I listen to some metal.

Man, opeth is mostly accoustic.
No, it isn't. Their songs have a lot of mellow acoustic passages but even more heavy riffs, so...

Anyway, very non-final top 10 off the top of my head and not in any particular order:

Iced Earth
Opeth
Agalloch
Pain of Salvation
Symphony X
Kamelot
Blind Guardian
Nightwish
Evergrey
After Forever

Metal is my life \m/ !!

-Melodic death metal: Wintersun, Kalmah, Norther, Amon Amarth, Into Eternity, Scar Symmetry, etc...
-Power metal: Angra, Blind Guardian (my fav), Dragonforce, Dark Moor, Dreamtale, Lost Horizon, Freedom Call, Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, Rhapsody of fire (the old albums), Falconer, Fairyland, Gamma Ray, Kamelot, etc....
-Heavy/Thrash metal: Megadeth, Metallica, Iron maiden, ManowaR, etc...
Gothic and symphonic metal: Epica, Tristania, Nightwish, Therion, Angtoria, Trail Of Tears, Lunatica, Within Temptation, etc...
-Folk/Death folk metal: Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Elvenking, Suidakra, XIV Dark Centuries, Skiltron, Wuthering Heights, etc...

And the rest: Dream Theater, Opeth, Symphony X, System Of A Down, Rammstein, UneXpect (most f**ed band haha), etc...

And I could go on like that for a while. My Winamp's always on shuffle, cycling through a lot of bands. But unlike some of my metal friends, I'm not only focused on metal, I like other styles like classical, Techno, and many Japanese songs (I like animes and I'm here after all ).

I physically look like one, but I'm not a metalhead by any measure.
I do like metal though, I just don't fall into the subculture. Now, I like industrial and pagan metal mostly, and preferrably not sung in English. The bands below are all Finnish or German (though Ensiferum and Wolfchant usually have English lyrics). :0

Industrial: Rammstein, Turmion Kätilöt
Pagan: Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Wolfchant

Though by far the best thing ever is putting a violin and electric guitar together, as in "Last of the Wilds" by Nightwish. :0
If anyone knows any bands that do that often, please do PM me.
