Suddenly, Nobunaga. Though his voice was not very charismatic and this rendition of Atsumori was a bit flat. Guess I'm too used to Juurouta Kosugi's version.

Don't know because I still having a hard time believing the main couple from the first one survive and had kids who have to do incest to keep the bloodline going.

That was a pretty dull first episode. It looks like the two clans have made peace somehow, since they're living and training together. Oh, and we may get some twincest.

The original show actually said incest was a thing. So it happening here comes as no surprise.

Feel like it probably wasnt naturally done while they were alive. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise. There are a lot of unbelievable things in Basilisk. A guy can live having his head chopped off and yet still live. That seems weirder lol

If they survived then Basilisk's story can't be neatly classified as "Romeo & Juliet with ninjas" anymore

Anyway, I'm kinda lukewarm when it comes to this new anime so far, especially knowing that the author is not the same person as the previous Basilisk manga.

Even if not for this new Ouka anime, I think you need to watch it (or better yet, read the manga). Basilisk (aka. Kouga Ninpouchou) is such a classic story (original novel in 1958) that I think fans of ninjas owed themselves to experience it, be it reading the old novel, reading Basilisk manga or watch the anime (the anime is tamer compared to the manga though).

That would ruin the ending for me.

I fear Gennosuke may be alive though, since he's in the OP (or the ED, forgot which). Unless that's grown up Hachirou.
