Bright! xD

Try applying the image, sharpening it, then erasing the focal point. That should give the wings a more defined shape. I would then use the burn/dodge tool to create depth with the lighting.

Other than that, it looks awesome. ^^ V2 if you decide not to change anything.

I like it just the way it is Marina!

Though, you could also try a bit of everything suggested so far just to be safe.

And the difference between versions is just your name, right? Can't really spot anything else that differs between the two.

LoL, I like your avatar. It's kawaii. Well I'm looking at both versions of your sig. So far the only difference I can tell is your name. I like the v.1's name print better and it's a lot more discrete. Main text is hard to see and should be defined more since it blends too well with the rest of your presentation. Just by looking around the canvas, I can see the potential of bringing out the washed out colors to be more vibrant while maintaining your original look. Render placement is perfect but should stand out a bit more to distinguish both bg and render. It's been a while since you've done work but you've come a long way. I'm proud of you.

Hmm I always have a hard time figuring out a nice way of contrasting images. When I try, it usually goes way too extreme! I'll keep trying

That is correct. I'm experimenting with a new style of signing my sigs, it's really hard to see, but I have my name in katakana under the main marina part as well.

*beams with happiness* Always nice to get your advice Wing. I know you're all about discrete when signing your pieces, but I went through the effort of messing with a new style and really wanted to use it I've made some changes in this new one and hope it's better.

New style for signing my works?

On the sig: Okay, now that I've taken everyone's advice into account....disaster has befallen me! By some strange fluke, all my layers were combined into one layer. I didn't even notice this until I re-opened the file to do some editing, and WALA! All my layers were gone and I couldn't undo it (damn you flatten image....I don't even remember choosing the option to flatten, though I guess that's what happened). I have limited moving room right now for editing this sig now

Anyways.. I'm contemplating the previous V.2 against this new version:

I like this version a lot more than the other two. Colors are a lot more noticable and now I can see the Fairy Fire text!

And sorry to hear about your photoshop file. What I usually do is to save another copy of my PSD file whenever I make any significant changes, that way I have something to fall back on in case the it didn't work out. It's kinda like save points in games.
