Manga "longriders!" get anime adaptation :

Synopsis (in Japanese) :
運動音痴な倉田亜美（大学1年生）が駅前で折りたたみ自転車に一目惚れし、貯金全額おろして折りたたみ自転車を購入してサイクリングを始め、ロードバイクに目覚めるお話。
チームで行うブルベであるフレッシュを目指そうという内容である。
主に距離に関しての感覚がぶっ飛び過ぎた自転車乗り達が集まって作られた同人サークル「ロングライダース」原案であるため、初っ端からハンガーノックだのフレッシュ（※フランス語、後述）だのとハードな用語が飛び交っているが安心して読んでいただきたい。

Kurata Ami, a 1st year University student who has no physical ability (sports etc.), suddenly fall in love with folding bicycle / oritatami jitensha after saw it in front of train station. So she saving up to buy folding bicycle, and start to learn cycling.

This seems already interesting enough...I get that the cyclism theme was already explored in the anime world for at least thrice and just when you thought Yowamushi Pedal didn't already trump the card for it, we seriously don't get enough sport anime that had female characters more so than others, hence why I welcome more shows like these so long as they prioritize the sport itself as much as the female characters.

As for the others, I'll mind you that moe is not a genre, but a feeling geared towards characters you love so much regardless of gender type. Might as well call these kind of anime "cute girls doing cute girls" (shortened as CGCDT) which just serves as an complementary element that gets along with whatever genre the anime belongs (in this case sports).

Yowapeda is a huge multi-platform blockbuster now. How many of those in anime don't see a slew of imitators?

The difference I see is, Yowapeda's author is a woman and I saw clearly in the anime/manga she did her homework about the word of bikes, now this one, author is a male. Would the series go on a proper research or just half assed + ganbare style?

Yowapeda's author is male, and he does like to bike.

I wonder if this is close to what we would have gotten if Onoda had stayed a girl.

This is one of those times though where I think having imitators is a good thing. I always wish we could get more sports shows focusing on women that isn't also full of T&A in the same vein as Haikyuu!! and YowaPeda.
