This remind me of an old Chinese legend about Chinese Emperors; that they were supposedly chosen by the gods from birth, and part of the privilege is that they are born with the "golden mouth"... Which essentially means whatever they say, goes. Minor deities and wild spirits are suppose to bend over backwards to make sure every unreasonable comment the future emperor made comes true, even if it means making skeletons of eaten fish to come alive and swim away, or alter weather patterns.
In a way, that made these mythological Emperors similar to Haruhi, except their omnipotence lies in commanding gods, rather than having powers directly.

That would just make a mess. You need an Eraserhead. (see 2nd-to-last entry)

Well its been 3 years coming and now that its here I have to say.............im impressed..........damn impressed
In anticipation I had just finished rewatching season 1 (the only anime I have ever watched twice) just so that I could compare the quality to that of season 1. So with all my expectations and big hopes for this new series put on the line I watched. Almost instantley I felt that same classic "Haruhi" magic. The art, animation, voice acting, music and well....everything was spot on. I loved Kyons continued cynicism and apathy in the face of overwhelming peculiarness, and young Haruhi's............Haruhiness. Nice ending, im not sure whether it will ever truley replace the hare hare yukai but a good ending non the less. |
