While I would have liked a Lucy-Kouta ending, the Manga ending was good. It tied up most of the loose ends.

Although I would really have liked a little more on the twins. Who their parents were and where they had been living. Seeing the meetings/reunions with the other girls from the Maple Inn would have been nice too.

Have you read the policies? It's courtesy, not a rule, to use spoiler tags. Second, it's recommended to use spoiler tags about 1-2 days after the episode is released, and after that you don't have to. The episode I was talking about was released more than 1-2 days ago.

I have seen the ending of Elfen Lied but I have to disagree about it being good. The horn being shot off and the clock starting again were clear references to Nyu. But the ending of the anime fails to address some serious questions. For one, what happens when that organization returns to its pursuit of Lucy? Is the personality of Lucy permanently gone? Will Khota's memories resurface permanently (at the end he appears to have repressed memories of Lucy again)?

The ending was a copout but without having more episodes they really didn't have a choice, I guess.

Yeah.... I think it's meant to be open to interpretation. The ending is what you want it to be.

I agree that the ending raises new questions, but like Reno said, it's meant to be interpreted differently.

In the many Elfen Lied discussions I've been, the main discussion is whether or not Lucy actually lives or not. This discussion varies from if Lucy died physically, mentally (Nyuu remains), or not at all, so of course, there will be some disagreements between opinions. I myself interpreted the ending as not a completely life story, but rather I judge the ending based on what I've seen so far. I don't know what will happen to Lucy/Nyuu after but I don't really think about it much. Remember that the director and Shirokawa both died, so the organization is very crippled right now. Either way, I'm not planning to write more 3 page essays every posts again, so yes, it's all based on interpretations and opinions.

I thought lucy was still alive, I mean, she came back to Khota's house. Maybe I'm wrong though, it could've been a memory like some have stated. I have no I idea what the ending meant though, so nevermind.

Well thats true, but its quite possible she couldn't have sensed Lucy because her horns were gone. Of course there is also the possibility that the loss of the horns didn't really change much of anything. In any case I think that the evil Lucy(the one in here mind) is gone.

But anyway I think makes sense that Lucy died bacause they make it quite clear she to the bridge to die. And it is possible that Nyu is still alive. But then how could she have escaped?

It was said before. The two things that Lucy and Nyu have in common are their shared body and their love for Kouta.

You gotta remember Nyu is Lucy but with amnesia. Simple as that.

Er, Nyu is a split personality of Lucy that only developed when Lucy was hit on the head by the sniper bullet. Lucy doesn't have amnesia, because she has no memories. She did not even eat from the tree of knowledge. Nyu converts to Lucy when she is hit on the head or otherwise some concussion to the head and Lucy reverts to Nyu when she is shown kindness. They're separate persons.
