Looking for a good "Action/gunfight" Anime

Can anyone please recommend me an Anime with good action and/or gunfights? Preferably in a military-style, but I don't really mind, I also don't mind if it's historical or not, and preferably no mechs which pwns the living soul out of everyone else

Thank you ! ^_^

EDIT: Sorry, but I forgot to add the list that I've already watched (and if you can, please refer the following as similar Animes that you can suggest to me!
- Area 88
- Toshokan Sensou
- Full Metal Panic (all three seasons)
- Black Lagoon
- Some of the Gundam series

I think Canaan is what you're looking for.

Wild Arms: Twilight Venom fits the bill. It's about 10 years old now so I suppose it'd look pretty dated, but when I watched it all those years ago I rather enjoyed it. Solidly in the sci-fi western realm, with lots of gunplay.

I would suggest Trigun. The gun fights are amazing, especially the last episode. Thou, there is one mech type character in there if you do not mind.

Grenadier has plenty of highly entertaining shootouts, especially the climactic one. It's probably notable for the heroine's very 'interesting' way of reloading.

Heatguy J – One of the most slept on, supercool psychological fighter series’ there is…Daisuke is like what Cowboy Bebop’s Spike would be if he didn’t have any baggage, just plain laidback and cool with a gun that shoots red-bullets you don’t wanna F with…Did I mention in this futuristic world guns and bullets apparently cost the department a fortune and can only be used in emergencies that include when your subordinate supped-up android goes bonkers?

Gun X Sword
- The dude has a Gun that is also a sword that is also a key for a kicka$$ mecha...Must i really say more? Loads of gunspray action too to offset the mecha usage which ain't bad...
