This makes me think, if Ichika/Touma/"insert your generic harem lead here" was anything like Toori, those series would have been hilarious. I mean, only thinking what would have happened to our poor tsunderes makes me laugh

After 4 episodes, the story is finally picking up. I still have no clue what is going on, but at least the story has moved a little bit. From what I can tell, the 4 episodes all revolved around the same day, with slight progression each episode. I do hope episode 5 actually moves from this point forward instead of reliving the same day again, which is beginning to feel like Endless Eight.

I got Episode 4. Expect the synopsis to be completed within the next hour.
EDIT: It is done. Thoughts: > Was Sakakibara's knowledge of the Genesis Project a factor why he was Spirited Away? > Just like Muneshige, I wonder why Motonobu had to sacrifice Mikawa. He could have just taken his ability to create superweapons as a bargain to regain power, although Motonobu was just too tired of being under the Testament Union in the first place.

Ohh, it sounds like the novels just might be getting a baka-tsuki dream team on them at some point in the future.
http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/vie...=4370&start=30 Same team as Index + another dedicated translator? YESSSSS. Don't want to get my hopes up too high though.

I understand that you have extensive knowledge on the series, and your explainations are very helpful. However, the average viewer should not be forced to go outside of anime itself to understand the content of the story. I am trying to keep an open mind for this anime as much as I can, since I have already given it 4 episodes. I do hope every episode that the series changes it direction and become more coherent. Also, I do hope the main character, Toori, improves as a character as well. Right now, he resembles the perverted side-kick character that always is the butt of all jokes, except he actually gets the girls for some unknown reason. Again, as an anime only viewer, I do not want to venture into novel threads or get spoiled by looking up unexpected information. I can only go by what I see, and I do hope every episode that it explains things better.

One catch though, the staff made it clear that some terminologies explanation could not fit into the anime itself, so they made a few words for each episode and provided explanation for them online. This is the only source that we probably have to reference to. Azumaaaa!!! You are watching the wrong sub!! The good sub doesn't use the term gutei at all!!! Maybe that's why you find the series more confusing than the rest of us =). EDIT: I will laugh (and rage) SO HARD if people are getting confused because that group's "translation" is screwing people over. |

What I do understand is that there are different factions and different worlds. People are trying to reproduce history in order to be able to go back into space with developing technology, while at the same time, try not to repeat history, which will lead to their downfall. Now, the different factions are in conflict, which will eventually lead to one of the lands to be devastated. Cool fight scene ensues. That is the basis of what can be understood. The motivations and reasons are very incoherent right now. The story unique jargon does not help. There are too many factions with too many different agendas. And character designs are very similar for a lot of characters, which make it confusing to tell who is who. Again, these are just the flaws of the current episodes. I do feel after this episode, that they might start making the story more coherent, and I, if not many other people, will look forward to that. You cannot publish that many novels if the story is bad, so I do expect this series to end up great. If this series fails, it will solely be on the shoulders of the anime production team.

I explained the reasoning and solution Sunrise came up with for this in the previous post, you might've missed this while typing up that response. Keep in mind the anime's made for Japanese audiences primarily, they don't really find it troublesome reading a few words online before the story.

K.P.A. Italia goes to Mikawa to talk about Deadly Sin Armament (episode 2) Tres Espania is just escorting K.P.A. Italia (episode 3) Mikawa is preparing firework is connected to the Genesis Plan; we have no idea what this is (episode 2). The firework is the explosion of the nuclear reactor (episode 4) Musashi, the chancellor is preparing to confess to someone, and they're having a party (episode 2-4) So to simplify this even more. K.P.A Italia and Tres Espania visits Mikawa to talk about weapons the same time Musashi docks there. Is there anything else that confuse you? |

Well, they're trying their best to settle with a delicate balance. Any more explanations will make this even more painful to watch for inexperienced viewers. Taking out anything else from the novels that contributes to the plot will cause negative reactions from the novel readers. This series is probably as challenging to inexperienced viewers of sci-fi/fantasy series as Game of Thrones. But at least you get a glossary in the website.

There seem to be three plotlines running at the same time, one is Toori's confession, the other is the political situation with the four factions (Musashi, Mikawa, Espana and Italia), and the last is the Nobles that have been spirited away, aka kidnapped.
What significances does the last one have?
