Question too.
In this anime, we see cats many times. About their mysteries. People there (Neo venezia, iirc) respect them very much. They even make cats as President. Btw, I like cats very much, but I dont respect them in that way. I just like them as "cats". Is there any legend or tale about cats in Venezia? Im wondering how much Neo venezia resembles Venezia ? Ah, Aqua. I wish I could go and live there. Spoiler for Earth:

I don't really think Venetians have any legends about cats, Amano Kozue is just a damn cat freak, that's all. And Neo Venezia is Venezia, but only in another planet. |

Been watching S2, it's still pretty enjoyable fillers so far, but still, I wish there's more story or character development.
Just a question, what language is Athena singing in? It doesn't sound like she's singing Japanese, is she singing in Italian? Are the songs she sang famous Italian songs? (or whatever language they are) Thanks. |

It's not filler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm being driven crazy by people who seem to think that slice-of-life = filler.)
This is what the show is really about! If anything ever changes, that is the abnormal episode. (There is a little bit of this, but only a little bit thank goodness.)

Quick question. Does anyone know the song sang in the end of ep 11 (when the girls are parting to go back home)? It's not barcarolle by kawai eri. I can't seem to find it on the OST.
nvm found it, it's symphony by makino yui. Last edited by depthcharge101; 2007-02-19 at 08:55. |

The main problem in this world, is that people do not understand the meaning of a Filler episode. & seriously, someone saying that Aria has fillers really needs to look up on the series more.

Well it depends on your definition of a filler episode. To me usually anything that's not in the manga storyline is a filler episode (not that that's a bad thing mind you as). That's pretty much what I stick to with regards to anime. Now it may be different for someone else so it seems a bit silly to make a statement like that. Though I do agree with you on the part about Aria

Zappster, I agree -- I think your definition of "filler" is most applicable and appropriate to the world of anime adaptations (be it based off of manga, novels, games, etc.), and in that sense it could be either good or bad as the case goes. I think the other definition would go something like "episodes that don't advance the plot towards the primary goal or conclusion", which I guess would generally be seen as a Bad Thing, but I agree with the general consensus: that doesn't apply to Aria, or the slice-of-life genre. I wonder if it's because many English-speaking fans can't help but see all entertainment through the filter of the Hollywood-style entertainment that's so prevelant (that is overwhelmingly plot-driven)?
Actually, after writing that, I found it interesting to see what people on Wikipedia had to say about it. If you think of all shows as "continuity-based", then it would make sense why you'd think Aria was "all filler" -- that's because it isn't continuity-based at all. Anyway, it's interesting. |
