Well the first movie was based off of arcs already adapted by the first season of the anime and the anime art for that was done by the same artists who handled all of the Kai artwork.
But none of the scenes drawn were directly from scenes of the first season... until that picture anyway.

The only other ones I could find were photographs, so the quality is quite poor. Have you seen any others, Joly?

Oooh. I found it on the Higurashi calendar page of Amazon (it's a shame that it's not new, though). Does that mean that you have a version of that (and maybe others) without the SAMPLE mark? If so, when you get some spare time, would you mind posting them?

I just saw Yutori post about her new Rika and Hanyuu illustrations on her blog too. Thanks for posting them! They're beautiful. Is the illustration on WonderGOO also a wall scroll like her previous illustration for Kizuna III?
Ace of Dragons - Yes. I've seen that one. Sadly, some of the illustrations in the calendar are repeat images. Yutori doesn't have any new work on it. She had a second picture on the calendar, but I can't remember exactly which one it was. XD; Another old illustration in the calendar is the Kataribanashi-hen Hanyuu by Suzuki Jiro. Except she's on a pink background with hearts. The only other new(? well... I've never seen this one before.) illustration I remember are some of the characters wearing kimonos. And Rika has part of her hair in a ponytail on one side in a yellow ribbon. It's by Hinase Momoyama (Minagoroshi-hen artist). Sorry, I can only describe what I saw/remember. I didn't have enough money to buy it. It was about $30 at Kinokuniya. |
