Finally some info on the series comes out: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...nveiled/.82627
The official website for Go! Princess Precure, the 12th Precure magical girl television anime series premiering on February 1, confirmed its story, characters, main staff, and theme song singers on Friday. The keyword of the new series is "princess," and the source of the Precures' power is "dreams." The story is set in Noble Academy, the first boarding junior high school in the Precure franchise. The anime depicts the excitement of dorm life, coming of age while living with friends, and the anticipation and anxiety of a new life among roommates, separated from family. The heroine Haruka Haruno is a first-year student at Noble Academy. Even now, she has cherished a dream of becoming a princess, like those from her precious picture books. Long ago, she made a promise with a boy named Kanata to never give up the dream. One day, the "Princess Precures" were revived by the Princess Perfume (and Kanata's dress-shaped "Dress-Up Key" that unlocks the Princess Perfume's power), and Haruka transforms into the flower princess Cure Flora. When unleashing their special signature moves, the Princess Precures' outfits turn into magnificent princess-like Mode Elegant long dresses. Haruka also meets two new companions. Minami Kaidō is a second-year student and the student council president nicknamed the "school princess." She also happens to transform into the sea princess Cure Mermaid. Pafu (a dog) and her older brother Aroma (a parrot) are fairies who came from Hope Kingdom in search of the Princess Precures. Haruka's childhood acquaintance Kanata happens to be Prince Hope Grand Kanata from the Hope Kingdom. Yūta Tanaka, an episode director who worked on the franchise since Suite Precure, is serving as the series director of the new anime. Hitoshi Tanaka is in charge of the series scripts. The 2014 Miss Universe Japan competition's Nara representative Karin Isobe is performing the opening theme song "Miracle Go! Princess Precure," and stage musical actress Rie Kitagawa is performing the ending theme "Dreaming PrincessPrecure."

Ep 01
That was a pretty good premier ep for a PreCure series I thought. The fighting sequence with the new monsters of the week (named Zetsuborgs) was indeed pretty good. The bad guy general Cure Flora faced down was dressed like a heavy metal/punk rocker mix (almost like someone who was a fan of the old K.I.S.S. band ) and was downright mean, crude and nasty. A real outright bad guy in his behavior. But lets put things in order here.... So then ... the OP was okay, I guess. It felt kinda standard in a way. Not bad, but nothing especially standing out either. The ED was a little different than normally. There were qualities about it that reminded me of Disney qualities, actually. The story opens with the Prince of the Kingdom of Hope (named Kanata) giving a "PreCure key" to the main character (Haruka) when she was a child. She carried around that key ever since. Later on when she meets the fairy sibling sidekicks Puff (a dog) and Aroma (a parrot) they are immediately attacked by the bad guy general named Close who is from DysDark. Officially Puff and Aroma are the "Hope Kingdom's Royal Fairies". From the OP sequence we see there are three generals from DysDark - one for each of the PreCure who also appear in the OP - and it seems that the main focus of DysDark is to lock away all the aspiring dreams and hopes of earth's inhabitants. The generals can peer into the hearts of others through a magic keyhole) and when they lock them away saying "Close your dream!" (Haruka's roomate Yui is the first victim) the Zetsuborg appear and the victim is physically locked in a thin bird cage, unconscious or dreaming or the like. When Haruka "awakens" it makes the charm Prince Kanata gave her as a child extend a section into the end of a key. This key end is placed in a bottle called "Princess Perfume" that the fairies were carrying around. Close calls this a "dress up key". After unlocking the perfume bottle she sprays it on herself in the PreCure transformation sequence. This is actually rather similar to the HeartCatch PreCure transformations. When she transforms she introduces herself as "The princess of blooming flowers! Cure Flora!" Cure Flora's special finishing move is a storm of flower petals too, and she says "Dance flowers! PreCure Floral Toubillon!" or something like that. The visual effect is something like Cure Happy's "Happy Shower". Interestingly after destroying the Zetsuborgs the victim still remained locked in the tall thin bird cage, and Cure Flora had to go to the cage and physcially unlock it and bring her out before they recovered, but she unlocked the cages with her charm/key thing. Defeating the Zetsuborg did not automatically free the victim from being imprisoned. Others have pointed out the final move being entirely in cgi - for me it was not so bad. But it was certainly noticeable. Next ep it looks like she meets up with Kaidou Minami, who is the School Pres and also an heiress and referred to as the princess of the school. She agrees to teach Haruka about ballet and turns out to be the next PreCure - Cure Mermaid. So ... in HeartCatch we had Cure Blossom and Cure Marine and in this one we have Cure Flora and Cure Mermaid. Lots of similarities. But to be honest I thought it was okay and enjoyed the first episode proper.

Spoiler for some older seasons:
Edit: No-no-no, GoGo had a Big Good queen who empowered the cures. All right, let me pretend i added GoGo just because otherwise it would have sounded as if i agree by saying "yes" ^_^ |

And sooooo, they managed to find a way to add even more stock footage for the following episode by using the key 3 times...
Also, calling it right away : butterfly-themed baddy baddy girl ? Yes, you with the gray hair... Prepare yourself to turn into a Cure around episode 25. |

First episode didn't really grab me. I think I'm getting tired of the Precure formula. I'll give it another couple of episodes to see if things improve - if not, I'll sit this one out (it will be the first series I've skipped since Fresh).
