I agree. I never understood why they simply replace the GuAIZ (specifically the GuAIZ R) with the ZAKU. It was far better than the base ZAKU.

GuAIZ was definitely amazing.
And yeah, it did seem like ZAFT got some serious downgrades in Destiny, at least in cool factor.

Sad they had to rip everything from UC.

Anyways, I'm glad 00 has some fresh grunt designs. Loving that Tieren.

Well, the creators made it no secret when pointing out that SEED & DESTINY were meant to retell the Gundam story in the 21st century. Beside some mechanical design similarities, you find very little parallel in characters, except perhaps that whole thing with Stella.

Not so fresh if you are into Front Mission. The Tieren resemble some of the Wanzers used in the game. However, 00 does a good job in making the distinction between 'Grunts' and 'Gundams' by introducing the Tieren and/or Union Flag.

On the other hand, it would appear that the only fresh mecha designs I have witnessed recently on any media would be ones found in Xenosaga. Especially episodes II & III.

Those were beautiful.

Don't know about Xenosaga, but Gurren Lagann really had fresh mech design imo. Out of all the grunt in CE universe, I would choose Zaku, since well they are Zaku.

I like the BuCUE's design (aww, it's not in the poll). Talk about leet looking grunts I'm all for the BuCUE's. Especially the TMF/A-802W2 Kerberos BuCUE Hound that appeared on STARGAZER. Man, those units are badass.

Now that I think about it, the mecha designs in both ZoE and Xenosaga were pretty similiar. But why Xenosaga? Because Kos-Mos was in it!

IAWTP. The GuAIZ was just purely awesome and it was also Rau's suit for the whole series except for the last 3 eps. But nonetheless I'd go for the GuAIZ than the Zaku in Destiny.

Actually, Rau used the CGUE and the DINN before he used the GuAIZ. IIRC, in the series, he used all four different ms (including Providence) on one occasion each.

Heck! Still cannot believe Zaku is lagging behind the Murasame!

And to think two particular ZAKUs held off waves after waves of Rank A Gundam attacks. *Sigh* Their efforts wasted *Sniff*.

And the M1 Astray, which probably shot down more Daggers than the other way around, is currently lagging behind the Dagger by 50% of the vote.

Logic, who needs em.
