That was pretty good. Marcoh vs. Envy was well done and fun to watch, and Envy trying to take over Yoki's body was hilarious. It's kind of hard though, waiting for my favourite parts of the manga to be animated.... This arc feels so long...

The animation was amazing! I loved it and I love Envy's little fetus chibi voice lolol. Him trying to take over Yoki's body was just as funny as it was in the manga.
I loved how they ended the episode this week, as well. Hohenheim and Al finally reunited! Can't believe we're this far.

Putting aside my disliking of Marcoh vs Envy, it was a good adaptation for the most part, with some amazing animation in parts.
However, they removed Kimblee going "Getting blown up while I was talking... How rude." and that is unforgivable. And man, Embryo Envy's voice... never expected something so evil and ugly to sound so... cute. |

The only issue I had with this episode was that they chose the worst possible point for the commercial break.
I mean Marcoh pulls that amazing reversal -> Envy starts wailing in pain -> "Full Metal Alchemist..." -> "Full Metal Alchemist!" -> Awesome action continues. Talk about flow-breaking. Still gets a 10 from me though. |

I don't like it that much either but because it doesn't make much sense for Marcoh himself to have already known how to do that to Envy. However, if he had used the newly discovered reverse mass human transmutation circle (instead of the normal one) then it would've made perfect sense. Even the boast could have been kept the same but as a (false) taunt against Envy.

Plus I'm pretty sure you have to actually draw that one out, even if you have access to a philosopher's stone. Using a philosopher's stone to avert needing an array designed to undo philosopher stones? Doesn't make sense.

So it makes sense that an array meant to create philosopher's stones can also destroy them completely to you? And that since Marcoh had that array all along, he never tried to use it before by taking the homunculous off-guard (as oppose to taunting one to the point where Envy could have easily killed him before he even had a chance to use it)?
As for the reverse human transmutation circle, you might not have noticed, but the human transmutation circles, whether large or small, are still the same. It's the scale of the circle that really makes the difference after all. Even the small version is mass human transmutation since it requires a large number of souls just to create a tiny little stone. Did it not occur to you that Marcoh had the circle for transmuting humans because he's the guy transmuting large numbers of humans into little stones in the past? |

Did Marco know previously that the homoculii were essentially philospher stones?
I thought he didn't learn that until Roy discovered it, and he passed it on to Ed who passed it on to Marco.
