"Using" does not only imply firing. She could be holding it to cover prisoners. You keep the finger on the tigger in that case if I recall correctly.

I find it very improbable that Yuki is handling prisoners at this time. If there were POW's near Asakura, do you think she'd not be doing everything in her power to stab them to death?

It's more likely that she's just been handed her gun and hasn't figured out the proper usage yet. I expect in about a week she'll be getting head shots on guys in helicopters going 100+mph.
