So the moral of the story is, don't ever hook up with the goofy guy, ladies !!! (or be amazed with the incredible accuracy against all odds from your bf)

Actually, there is really nothing to discuss...this is shonen manga, so abortion is never an option, you either take the responsibility or dump the girl XD (That's never the option in shonen manga either, so what is the point of the discussion??)

I've heard abortion IS the preferred birth control in Japan

they just don't talk about it

According to this site:

http://factsanddetails.com/japan.php?itemid=599

On the social stigmas attached to birth control pills, one Japanese psychiatrist told Newsweek, "Many women still say, my boyfriend would think I play around if I talked about birth control." One Japanese gynecologist said, "It's easier for a Japanese woman to say she's had an abortion that to say she's on the pill."

plus I also heard somewhere that only recently Japan allows woman to take the pill? Maybe not Japan, but somewhere else. But like what you have suggested, sometimes birth control also relates to the culture and the equality of gender in each particular country.

But I don't think shonen manga will ever allow abortion on somewhat important characters

@ReaperxKingx
yeah, birth rate in japan is low, but i think teenage pregnancy is a totally different issue.

I am a Ranka fan and I have significant experience in defending various "crimes" committed by Ranka, from her evil plan to terminate human races, to feeding inapporiate food to unknown lifeforms. If you think you find "new" charges aginst Ranka and you are interested, or you care to see how a particular Ranka fan would respond, please feel free to check my previous comment. There is a good chance that I have answered a similiar issue. And of course, my viewpoints do not necessarily represent other perspectivs from numerous Ranka fans in this planet

Well, when I created that post, I had no intention to look at the actual study of teenage pregnancy in Japan...I only joked that teenage pregnancy must be a serious issue if Seo has to do it twice.

So I apologize if anyone got an impression from my post that teenage pregnancy is a serious issue in Japan

It was nothing, I just like teasing people who make statements without research. Just a little harmless teasing.

In actual fact, we Americans should follow Japan's example because base on the stats, sexual education needs to be put back into school systems immediately.

I'd say that this second time is more a jab at the people who seem to insist the manga won't end until Haruto Knocks up Yuzuki. lol

I believe the word is called Eros, Greek for immature love or "physical lust" usually used for people who do no seek a intimacy partnership but rather enjoy a love of physical bodies.

I bet Takeshi saw or read a hentai where he saw the guy pull out before he finished and thought, BREAKTHROUGH! ULTIMATE CONTRACEPTIVE!, either that or he thought safe days were 100% safe-v-;;.

If he did I would be very disappointed in him. That is fiction, not real life.

At first I didn't know what a hentai was until I type it on google, so in short is a hentai a pornographic comic in Japan?

That's a belief you'll find common in America as well to justify not using birth control and contraceptives. It doesn't explain a thing.

Japan's low birth rate issues are kind of exaggerated because people don't bother remembering that there are multiple factors affecting population aside from birthing.

In reality Japan's birth rates aren't all too different from other developed countries with high education (America is an exception since education is inconsistent in many areas). Birth rates are always relatively low compared to third world countries because of education on sex and birth control, but the main difference is that Japan also has a low immigration rate, meaning there aren't many people coming in to boost the numbers unlike how it is for America or the European countries.
